Idiotic assumption

My Mikey, I love you

I just read Dear Margo again, and I came across something that struck me as totally idiotic.  It wasn’t on Margo’s part.  It was on the part of a detractor of someone who wrote in.

This lady that wrote is a teacher at a high school.  I don’t know where, and it doesn’t really matter.  What DOES matter is that some nimrod parents seem to think that because teachers’ salaries are supported by taxes, that makes them the teacher’s boss.

Now, I need a little help with this one.  It did make me think, because I have had the attitude toward police officers and such….but I had an epiphany today.  THEY PAY TAXES, TOO!!!!!  Does that mean they are self-employed, by this standard?!!!!

Teachers have a boss.  Their principal is their immediate boss.  The superintendent is above him, though possibly not directly above him.  Above the superintendent is the school board.

If these parents want to be "the boss" so badly, they can just join the damn school board and see how their ideas of how a teacher should teach will fly with the board!

Case closed.

Now, I guess I need to find out what committee would govern municipal authorities….city council?….and join it OR drop my attitude about the police being public servants, therefore our employees.

Point taken.

Everyone, chill and relax…have a good day,

PdC
