He’s got a ticket to ride….but he DOES care

Today went decently.  Nanny was bitchy at lunch, but it all worked out okay in the long run.  We’re in Austin again.  My Mikey had stated the other day that he wanted to visit Austin.

Not visit my sister, but visit the city!

Well, we’re obviously going to stay with my sister.  It wound up she needed us to, anyway.  Frankie, my brother-in-law, is in the hospital.  They wondered if he had appendicitis, but apparently, his appendix is ok.  His intestinal region is inflamed, and tomorrow, they will do a colonoscopy on him to see if they can find out why.

We had breakfast with Mama and Memaw at Braum’s.  It was nice.  Memaw was in a good mood, and later in the day, I made her laugh.  That always pleases me.  Poncho, Mama’s chihuahua, leapt at me and snapped.  Well, I happened to be kneeling and leaning down when he did that.  I reeled back and snapped, "Poncho, are you INSANE?!!!!"  Turned around and saw Memaw trying to hide a smile.  I asked, "Oh, so it’s funny, is it?"  She smiled big, and I started giggling.  I’m glad I made her laugh.

I rushed about in the hot-ass weather today, trying to find a good deal on a prepaid cellular phone.  I finally got a Virgin Mobile from WalMart.  It’s a cool little phone!  For about fifty bucks, we got the phone and 200 minutes.  I know that’s not a lot of minutes, but still, to get a phone that cheap is pretty nice.

On the drive to Austin…..

My Mikey had to pull over about 2/3 of the way here.  His right side was spasming from the driving.  Ok.  I drove.  Well, just past that, a policeman pulled me over.  He had run my license plates (don’t know WHY he ran them), and he discovered that my tags went out in January.  Add to that the fact that our insurance CARD, not the policy, lapsed on April 18, and what do you get?

Expired registration + appearing not to have insurance = TICKET!!!!

I got an f’ing ticket in Georgetown!!!!!

After we started back on the way, Piers came out, mad as hell.  Mama had mentioned a few days ago that she needed to send MH a new insurance card.  I assumed that MH had lost her card or something.  Since I am on the same policy as my sister and my parents, one would figure that I would be considered, too.  Now ask me if I WAS!

Hell no.  Mama didn’t remember that I was on it, too.  If it was expired for her and for MH, obviously, mine had expired, too!  Piers ranted really hard about how MH is always first in line and WAY more important than we are….it wasn’t pretty.

We calmed down, MH brought the kids home, we’re here, we’re queer….oh wait, that has nothing to do with this story!

We’re here and all is well.  AND we have a kewl new phone!!!!!

Take good care, everyone.

My Mikey, I love you forever times PI cubed plus one,

Your Jack

Sorry to hear about the ticket. I am glad you had a nice time at Braum’s with MeMaw. Treasure those memories and they should get you through anything. Glad you two were able to get a cell. Hope Frankie gets to feeling better.

arrgh! Tickets are horrible. At least the cop was nice enough not to be a jackass and take you to jail or something. I hear cops down there can be really mean sometimes.

virgin mobile is a rip off. remember i used to have one? they have a better one at wally-world now. the alltel one i think it is. cops will run plates to see if they can make a legitimate stop, they never know what they may find, esp on I-35.

RYN Peggy finally called. She forgot what day she was taking me and started helping her friend Joyce move. Neither Joyce or Peggy have any since of timing. She is bringing my money after church tonight. That will be around nine. I gave her Lori’s cell phone just so she can contact us, in case we are not here. Lori has to clean out her icebox since her lights are off. There is probably a smell by

I meant any sense of timing. Damn I hope I am not related to Dubya.

Too bad about the ticket. I always get pulled over for doing nothing wrong. Once, I got pulled over for having a tarp on the back of the truck. It was pouring, we were moving, and it was tied down and everything. I think the cop was just an ass. New phones are great though. David bought me one just a few months ago, but he had to, he dropped mine in the cat dish. Lots of love, John

John forgot to mention the time that he got pulled over for going 72 in a 55. Thankfully, the cop realized that he was just too busy singing carols with the kids to be paying attention to the speedometer, so he only wrote the ticket as if John has been going 65. It was still $100 though. Thanks for the note! Have you read Mikey’s Christopher Rice books? I think that this will end up being….

something along those lines. Well, sorta. I don’t think I could write like Christopher Rice. Lots of hugs, david.
