Just Another Hot Sunday

It’s a hot and humid Sunday, just the way I like it.

We didn’t go to church today because my 8 year old daughter had to have surgery friday. She developed an umbilical hernia and had to have that taken care of before school starts back. So we are just kind of laying around with her, watching movies and enjoying the heat.

My 14 year old son is coming home from camp today. My 12 year old daughter is estactic. As much as they argue and fight she even admits that she missed him. I missed him too but it was nice having a full fridge for a while cause that boy eats like every meal is gonna be his last for a long time!!

My kids minus the 8 year old are going to an ice cream social today. It’s the kick off event for VBS (Vacation Bible School) which starts tomorrow. VBS is 5 free days of bible learning while having fun and food!! I miss being a kid sometimes. Some of my fondest summer memories as a child was @ VBS.

We (my fiancee’ & I) have finally found the perfect venue for our wedding that is not going to cost us an arm and a leg. I wanted to get married at our church but the reception area isn’t what we envisioned. Although the chapel that my church has for wedding is gorgeous the reception hall (they call it the lower chapel) just doesn’t have that oomph that we wanted. And we really wanted to have the ceremony and reception at the same place. We both have some out-of-town guests coming and quite a few older family members and friends. We needed to make it easy all around for everyone. So we started looking around. We saw some places that were simply gorgeous but the cost would put us in serious debt. Then we saw some places that were very cheap but I wouldn’t allow my friends and family to even come there let alone eat whatever they prepared. Then we found The Manor . It’s beautiful!! We can have everything there and to the cost is in line with what we had in mind. PLUS!! Because our day is a holiday weekend, we are not have liquor and it’s earlier in the day we got alot of extras thrown in. They are letting us have an all-you-can-eat luncheon buffet for 200 people for 5 1/2 hours. So we will have the ceremony then while we have our receiving line in the parlor and taking pictures they will be setting up the buffet and all the rest of the stuff for the reception. So cool!!

Anyway that’s enough wedding giggles for today. Have a great day.
