NJM 4: Prompt and New overdue look!
So I changed up my diary just a bit. This is one of my fav photographs I took so I was like this needs to be my new background lol. That and I’ve had my previous backgrounds for eons lol. I want to redo the front page too one of these days. That will take a bit more time and effort though.
So the prompt was best trip or vacation. I’ve never had like a true vacation where I fly somewhere, stay in a fancy hotel, and do a bunch of touristy stuff or chill out on the beach or in a mountain lodge somewhere. I would love to do all those things though lol. But I would pick my first trip to St. Louis as my most memorable. I rode there with LeRoy’s family to visit him and spend 4th of July weekend with him. That was uh… 2-3 years ago maybe? 2 years ago in 08. I actually looked up the entry for you guys. Feel special! lol Matter of fact I shall post the part about the STL trip for you guys 🙂
July 2008:
… I came home Thursday and got asked at literally the last minute to join Mr. and Mrs. Cross to go to St. Louis to visit Leroy! On our way home from the church (we stayed to make sure all the kids were picked up) Mrs. Lisa (Leroy’s mom) called Leroy and he wanted to talk to me so she gave me the phone. He asked if I was coming up with them to visit. And I was like not that I’m aware of so he took it upon himself to ask his dad if I could stay at the house with him since Mrs. Lisa and them only booked one room. Which is understandable soooo apparently he wanted me to come.
I had a BLAST in STL! We got there on the 3rd in the evening. We went out to eat at Olive Garden, one of my favorite places. Then we went to Walmart to get a few things. We went back to the hotel (which was HELLA nice) then me, Leroy, his youngest bro Braxton, and their little cousin Everett headed to Leroy’s house to just chill for a few hours and crash.
On the 4th we woke up bright and early to meet his parents at the hotel for FREE breakfast. WOO HOO! Breakfast was awesome lemme tell ya. And they serve free breakfast for their guests EVERY morning. Gotta love that right? Then we all headed out to the St. Louis zoo. I absolutely loved it. There was SO much there. We stayed there unnntil about… I’ll say 5-6 ish. And we didnt even see all of the zoo. I really enjoyed it. Oh and I got a flattened penny with STL zoo and a penguin stamped on itAfter the zoo we went straight to Union Station to meet Leroy’s grandma. I was tickled that I got to meet her because even he hasnt seen her in 3 years. Me and Leroy walked around the little mall at Union Station for a bit until we finally got seated at the Hard Rock Cafe. Which was TOO stinkin expensive. $10 for a ceasar salad with NO meat. And an extra $8 to add meat to it. NO thank you. I was like no meat please. And that was one of the cheapest things on the menu that I know of. Can we say TRIPPIN? Anyway, after we ate we rode through some hella traffic to get close to the arch for the fireworks show. I FINALLY got to meet my lovely whore Leslie and her family there after 185 million years of knowing each other online. We all watched the fireworks show together. Kaia sat through about half of it on my lap so she can see the show better. YAY! i was glad she finally warmed up to me. She was all shy at first. Kady came right too me but then wanted her mommy after a little bit but she did end up coming back to me after the show for a while. She was much entertained by my piercings and laughing at me acting like I was gonna try to "eat" her. I rubbed my nose against hers and she started trying to chew on my nose. LMAO. TOO cute! I got a few pics of them but not nearly as many as I wanted. It was HELLA hard trying to get together with that whore though. lol. I do plan on going back just to spend time with her and the kids though. After the show we fought traffic again to head back to the hotel. Me, Leroy and the kids headed back to his house to drop the kids off (they were knocked out on the car ride back to the hotel). Then me and Leroy headed back out to Walmart again to pick up some things (got some really cute STL cardnials pants as a souvenier) then headed back to the house to chill for a few and crash.
On the 5th we got up bright and early again to meet Leroy’s parents for breakfast again then me and Leroy took off to get ready for a wedding while his family spent literally the entire day at Six Flags. Leroy was hired to be the wedding photographer annnd he invited me to come along to be the back up photographer (with the bride’s permission of course). We ran to Walmart yet again so that I could get a little dress to wear to the wedding. I took TONS of pics that I need to send to Leroy. I am really grateful for the experience because those that know me know that I really want to get into photography as a career. I got a little box of gum with the wedding announcement on it as a keepsake. After the wedding we chilled at Leroy’s house the rest of the day until his family got back to the hotel from Six Flags. We watched Juno at his house, visited with his little niece Lindsay which was super cute, and I helped Leroy clean up his room and pack for his missions trip to New Orleans to help rebuild houses early this morning. I stayed at the hotel with his family last night. We all woke up and headed down to breakfast then headed out to Grant’s Farm. I loved it there too. Its like an animal sanctuary / petting zoo. It was neat and saw a lot of stuff that just fascinated me. I got to play with some baby goats, pet a camel, llama, clydesdale horse, and donkey. I saw a lot of historic stuff and such. It was really neat. I would like to go back there and back to the zoo next time I visit again. We finally headed home after Grant’s Farm and I’ve been chillin with dad telling him all about the trip. Showed him some of my 100 million pics I took this week. I added them all up and I came home with 798 pics. LMAO. Yes I am a picture whore…
