super mom

I want mommy super powers.

How about a super power for my time?

I am having a hard time figuring out what is more important- playing or cleaning- colouring or do dishes.  Where should my mommy/housewife responsibilities be pushed aside- and my children’s playtime be embraced?

I have, all along tried to let Cooper have an imagination- to learn to play alone.  Which has worked, he plays alone great and creates hilarious games alone.  He uses objects he finds and pretends they are– whatever– spaceships, cars or "cars with eyes"..  His creativity makes me SO happy.

When though, am I ignoring him? When am I saying "Two more minutes" too many times? What is the limit?  He needs to know that Mommy has responsibilities– but doesn’t Mommy need to respect him? Play with him?

I want super powers so that I can: Wash dishes, sweep the floors (a necessity now that Avery is mobile), play cars, colour, prep supper, pick up the stuff that accumulates, play trains, build block towers, read books, drink coffee and fold laundry ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

Doesn’t that sound fabulous?

How about a super power for a wife?

One that let’s me be in the mood while exhausted from being up with one or two children throughout the night? One that gets up and makes a proper breakfast for my husband- all perky like (this power would probably cause my husband to have a heart attack from bacon grease and shock :D)

How about a super power against chocolate and various other sweets?

One that doesn’t make me eat them ALL OF THE TIME? Jesus, I have a problem.

One more super power- I know I am a little greedy- But I could use a teleportation power. I was going to say a super power that helped me be better at writing letters, emails and making phone calls to those I love– However, if I could just teleport I could get ‘er done. I could visit people weekly. I could take Brandon on dates. I could do SO much, it would be pretty effing wonderful.

So, I leave you with that.

Love, Me.
