Look out!
Avery has been her own kinda mobile for a while (rolling and then rolling/break dancing/army crawling backwards) -she could get around but it took awhile- and frustrated her.
Occasionally, if she really, really wanted too she would army crawl forwards a little. Usually only for Cooper’s cars or trains
Well today, she was doing it.. and alot. Over and over again. My wee wittle baby is now a big girl. And trouble. Today she was crying because Cooper moved his cars outta her reach and he was almost crying ’cause she was touching them. Mommy was laughing!
So, we have TROUBLE!
I hate these milestones.. they are wonderful, and sad all at the same time.
So. There. It’s documented, my baby isn’t a baby anymore. Yeesh.
So I thought to myself- someday my kids are going to want to read about our parenting trials, tribulations, etc. Right? Who wouldn’t want to laugh at their parents? I laugh at my parents- but mostly just at their pictures- stories sometimes sure but mostly pictures.
I also wanted lessons that I have learned in life- things that maybe a teenage Avery won’t listen to from my mouth, but through a blog/journal would digest and get something from. Sooo.. thus the blog was started.
But then I stop and think- whoa. whoa. whoa. As if the internet will even be even relatively the same in 15 years. I mean blogs are hot right now, everyone’s doin’ it right? But in 15 years? Who knows. I remember my “first” website- geocities.. remember? Or what about when the internet really first started? Newsgroups? It was all soo slow, (dial up! What!) and prehistoric.
And now? It’s completely different- so when I show my teenagers or young adults, or whatever they might call themselves at that time- a blog they will probably just roll their eyes to the heavens at my lame mom attempt at being cool and open. When right now I am sooo cool. Little do they know!
So, I will keep writing, in the event that I can download this and save it to a disc, that will probably be obsolete, and they will have to get their dad to pull out one of his old ‘puters(right now he has parts for like 3, so in 15 years how many will he have then? We really wouldn’t want to throw anything out right?) to read their mom’s ramblings.
I really wish I could see where the internet will be in 15 years. And facebook- shit it’s already had 1000x makeovers. And email, and cellphones (that are basically computers now).. Where can we go?
