Wow
I have missed writing…I missed the feeling of scrawling on the page and seeing what happened.
The weekend was tiring but good…work has been repetitive but the boss (we spent 4 ours today in supervision and annual review) seems more than happy and hasn’t held my time off against my performance. Have a load more of stuff to do but the nature of doing what I do this is inevitable although some may be on the edge of what i know.
Work will soon be getting new IT. It has been getting new IT for the past 4 or more years but it is rolling out. Now I need to get to learn Office 365 and all the whistle and bells that go with it. I have been a touch too easy going to be bothered learning it (what I use I use well but that won’t cut it any more) but we will get the wonders of on-screen tutorials. Be interesting as the building currently doesn’t have wifi and 4g can be a little hit and miss. The delights f rural living although I actually live in the town! Yep move a few miles and it would really become a little more dodgier than dodge when the sheriff moves in.
Have a couple of days off next week – will be useful to catch up with the Commonwealth Games and also a friend for coffee all being well.
Talking of the Commonwealth I am starting to get fed up with slavery, land theft and so on. Not because it is unimportant but the people that need to be held to account are those that committed the offence to humanity. They have been dead for aeons (and not all were objectionable) and the afterlife should you be a believer in such a thing is the place to sort them out. Just a point of interest not all slave traders were white…by no means al were white. BUT let me be clear I do not, never will and never could support their actions with regard to slavery nor indeed the way they took females at will -most foul on all grounds.
How the heck did we get here? oh well – my diary my way…all are welcome who believe that all people are good until they prove otherwise…and yes even those that are not I believe can change.
Slavery has existed as long as the written record (and probably pre-dates it). How baffled the ancestors would be at the modern condemnation of them and the institution of slavery. Your offense to humanity was business as usual to them, and totally acceptable in the conventions of their age. Never judge history through a modern lens.
@bedlamhillfarm and that is the point the argument would need to be with those who saw it as normal but also modern people should not take out history on those who come from those societies in modern times. We should cinsider the past and learn from it to move firward peacefully
