Phew

It was going so well. To the extent that I thought that work could have me back after a couple of weeks.

Not now they can’t.

The recovery from shoulder surgery is supposed to be 12-14 weeks. I had full movement, manageable pain and had ditched the sling…
that was upto Monday.

Now it is pills and sling and stop moving the arm but do the exercises and this was after the physio said those fateful words – very happy with progress. Apparently what happens is that blood (sorry may get squeamish here) goes into the area where the bone has been taken. In time this transforms or mutates into a nice cushion for the shoulder to articulate on…pain-free…and life can go on. Initially it is nice and easy then the pain comes in…

..he isn’t wrong – the thing hurts like ****ery and feels like lead…

pills going pop pop pop.

You’ve rushed your recovery. Tut tut!! What exactly have you had done? Only asking as Mum is down for a half shoulder replacement and I’m concerned about her recovery period – at 86 it will obviously be a lot longer! x
