OK so OD doesn’t work with chrome – oh well life is like that.

Life is really crappy for me. Back at work and 3 months of e-mails to catch up on – most of which relate to the ‘all singing all dancing superb new computer software’ that is really really crap. No other word would do – it is slow clicky and takes forever to do anything. As it is a case management system it holds all contacts on a case – these cases can run for years…so going through entries 10 at a time takes a bit of a while…a hell of a long time. Audits instead of taking a few minutes each now can be upto half an hour a time…for 12-15 cases a month this means the workload has gone up by a factor of six. Add to that the leaving vacant positions that had been full time the complete and utter chaos that the government has made of farming off a top flight service to the private sector where the leading bidders are curently embroiled in fraud investigations (rejecting a £24.1 million ‘settlement into the bargain), bad press for being unable to run the service that has gone to the private sector…but it is they way to go. Err poppycock. No evidence, no support and the public will be at risk of increased crime and poorer response to court sentences for those on 12 months or more custody or on Community Sentences – maybe I will write on that matter.

As for me I an still depressed but not really suicidal… new child – a Golden Retriever known as Tegan (teg_an not te_gan) or Teg for short…a 9 week old puppy. Would I take her to pick it up as its only and hour each way. Result an 8 hour round trip to a farm in a small village 9 miles south of Aberystwyth!
