אני קושית יפה/I’m a Cute Black Girl Pg 97
have come to?
I sure do hope this is a good agreement and that the terrorist can stick to and obviously do not gain too much from…but also most importantly that all remaining hostages (living and no longer living) are released.
This morning while I was buying my shake from , the teller asked me what my meant. While I was explaining it he asked… Boy, did I quickly refute that! I mean of course I don’t like the death or displacement or any negativity towards any innocent person…but ‘free Palestine’ has such a connotation towards ‘Hamas’ and ‘antisemitism’ …so I explain it means I stand for Israel and the IDF and want all the hostages returned home.
But what is home now for them?
Many of them have lost their homes, although there was a post on Facebook about how they plan on rebuilding the kibbutzim and eventually all the displaced civilians from Kibbutz Bei’eri.
Then there are all those hostages who have lost family (parents/children).
I read this pdf from about how Israel failed and let October 7th happen. Some important points were raised, and I was quite shocked to learn how open to potential threat Israel was. I always thought they were so spruced up… I mean they have the Iron Dome and such technical advancements…but I guess anything can be brought down! May they learn from their mistakes and may October 7th never happen again.
is quite a monumental phrase in Jewish History.
will the Jewish People be without a Home.
will the Jewish People not have security.
will the Holocaust happen.
will October 7th happen.
לעולם אל תשכח לעולם לא
Never Forget, Never Again
it’s typical that when government fails to protect their people, as happened in the US in 2001 (Bush was warned over and over again by the CIA that Al Qaida was going to attack and someone from a flight school called the FBI to warn them about Middle Eastern men learning to fly planes with no interest in landing them), that the response is to deflect blame by starting a war.
Which is how the United States to invade not one, but two defenseless countries: Afghanistan and Iraq. What do we have 20+ years later? Oh, the Taliban is ruling once again, and Iraq is constantly on the brink of anarchy.
Meanwhile, thousands of lives, 3/4 of them bystanders, have been lost, trillions of dollars has been spent. We will be treating the veterans of these wars for decades to come, and “Shrub” and Cheney are still alive. Screw them.
The same could be said about the corrupt Netanyahu and his cronies: this was a little attack with terrorists in hang gliders, construction equipment and motorcycles. They used bolt cutters to take down the fence.
Meanwhile, Israel has high tech monitors, regularly eavesdrops on Hamas communications, an army, air force and navy, and the f•ggin Mossad and they let this happen? Every one of these idiots should have been put on trial.
Instead we have a war where 99% of the people who were killed were bystanders, trillions of dollars will be spent, and Hama will most likely stay in power, and Israel has unleashed a wave of anti-Semitism not seen since the 1930s.
Great job all around!
You make great points, @ravdiablo. I still don’t understand how Hamas was able to get through the border and how were they able to parachute down without any warnings? But in all honesty Hamas had mission and the obviously worked on this for years so it was going to happen. Israel’s response should have been a lot quicker.
In the pdf I read it goes on about how because Israel had begun to rely on technology a lot of soldiers were off that weekend for holiday, and they were now running on minimum personnel manning the fences. No sexism but apparently it was only female soldiers.
Antisemitism was always there…people just needed an excuse to voice it and with this war going on they do now.
I hate the loss of innocents, but I stand by the IDF and with this war. What army warns before they go in? Israel is doing a lot to help the Palestinians. Supplying electricity, helping Aid pass through, warning them, guarding and setting up camps etc.
In the pdf I read they say how the deal they made for the release of Gilad Shalit was what let Hamas know Israel will do for hostages. And so, until Hamas and Hezbollah and any other terrorist group that arises is fully dismantled this will continue to happen.
@ncumisa Except they will never be able to dismantle these groups. I mean, Israel helped fund Hamas by passing along money given to them by the Qataris. Just as we funded the Taliban when they were fighting against the (then) Soviet Union, the training, weapons and money were eventually turned on us.
Israel and its allies are responsible for the rise of Hamas. The Palestinian Authority were ready to make peace with Israel after they won the elections in Gaza back in 2007, but Israel chose to support Hamas’ takeover as a way to divide up the Palestinian power between the two major groups.
Just as the US should take responsibility for arming and supporting the Taliban, Israel should take responsibility for supporting the rise of Hamas. The Taliban never gave up, and Hamas never will either. We have to live with these realities.
I don’t think Israel is or will brush off any blame they have or may have for Hamas and October 7 aftereffects.
I am not up with my news and History etc, so I cannot give a valid argument on what happened that resulted in Israel handing over Gaza to the Palestinians and allowing a know, terrorist group to take over it. But so be it. I have it in my head that once Hamas us no longer Israel will claim Gaza again…obviously I don’t think they will move Israelis there but I would like to think Israel will claim that land again and run it…okay that is me being all dreamy and thinking that the Palestinians would actually allow it since they did vote Hamas in although I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a coup, is that even the right word, well anyway I wouldn’t be surprised if Hamas forced votes to go their way so they could take over.
I just want peace and the Hostages to be freed.
Ooh Happy Independence Day for last week.
