אני קושית יפה/I’m a Cute Black Girl Pg 92
This year these days have so much more meaning to all Jews and Israel. Well at least for me!
Evening of Sun, 05 May 2024 – Mon, 06 May 2024
I forgot to light my Yahrzeit candle last night, but Hashem please forgive me…every Shabbat I light one for the Hostages and All the Fallen Souls during this war.
I am on the group for Israel News and regularly I get news updates on the rockets that have been launched into Israel and the IDF and IAF responses. In one of the many reports this morning the mentioned 3 fallen soldiers and then I went on to and saw my aunt mention the passing of her son. Now I don’t know my father’s side of the family very well…but immediately I felt the ache of losing someone dear…I ask my sister who he is, and she told me and mentioned that he died from a motorcycle accident.
1. Staff Sgt. Ruben Marc Mordechai Assouline, 19, from Ra’anana, serving in the Givati Brigade’s Shaked Battalion.
2. Staff Sgt. Ido Testa, 19, from Jerusalem, also serving in the Givati Brigade’s Shaked Battalion.
3. Staff Sgt. Tal Shavit, 21, from Kfar Giladi, serving in the Nahal Brigade’s 931st Battalion.
These soldiers that fell were so young. Cannot imagine what their parents are going through…
Now I know Yom HaShoah is for the fallen Jews during the Warsaw Uprising and The Holocaust and over the years it has been for all fallen Jewish Lives due to any form of combat…but this year it rings so hard especially when in just a few days we celebrate Yom Haatzmaut. Everyday Jews around the world are fighting for their right to live and Israel is fighting for its right for Independence and that is exactly what Yom Haatzmaut is.
Why can the Jews not have their own land? Why can we not have our own Independence and when we defend ourselves, we are called just heinous names and classed in such a bag way?
