Critiquing

Wanna know something I’m sick of? Little shitty, no talent people trying to run a web design buisness using thigs like Front Page. The people that have no talent, other then they can push buttons. That’s fine for normal people. make your own website, cool. Go ahead nad use it. But the professionals? I’m sorry but no.

I went to a professional website critic. I went to her site, only to not want to continue into the rest. I didn’t even have to read the text. she had One large, Low quality gaudy image ont eh front. And this lady’s nationally credited?! What the fuck. Web design, like any design, is easy. Keep it clean, keep it simple, but portray the feelings you want. Being able to do all this is what makes you good at it. I feel, that I am good at it. But when I see these people who are saying “This site sucks” and I goto theirs and it doesn’t even work in my browser (Mozilla Firefox, not internet exploder), and when it does, it looks like shit?

I’m sorry, but that persons opinion would be like me telling my friend Mat that his song is wrong. When he wrote it. I may have input, but I’m not going to bash his music. It’s art. So it web design, and it’s to be exactly what the artist wants. Wether you “Get it” or not, and wether it’s appealing to everyone, isn’t the point. Because it will NEVER appease all the masses. Which is why in a field like Web Design, I don’t just stick to one format. I have my personal preferences, sure. But not everyone feels like I do. Some want it completley different. Which is fine, I can do that too. So I do. I create various templates for websites because out of 50, one of those is bound to appeal to most people. Wether it’s the Techno/Circuit style, maybe contemporary artsy, maybe bare and clean. It’s all up the owners.

But no matter what route you might choose, in anything you do, if the critics can’t even do the basics themselves, they have no right to complain, in any way shape or form, and their input, means nothing. Kinda like someone complaining about the presidency here in the USA, and they didn’t vote when they could’ve. *shrug*

Just had to get that off my chest. Back to web designing.

As always,
James

reminds me of music critics that don’t know how to play an instrument.
