Lets Be Honest!

                Something that makes me really sick is how people try to be fake.  Every day you see people say things that you know they are only doing because it seems socially proper.   If you read my other two entries you’ll see that I’m interested in two things…honesty and people not being rude.  However there are some attempts at not being rude that are …well… just rude, or at the very least sickening.

                I’m also forced to be fake every day.  I work in retail so I have to greet people and wish them a good day when they leave.  When asked “How are you?”  The response I give is “Fine and you?” or “Fine thank you.”   It’s so written into our personalities that its reflex now.   Perhaps I’m not doing fine that day, maybe my cat died or something…I would really like to be honest.  A few times I’ve been honest and it would seem as though the world was coming to an end for the customer.  “Sorry for your luck!  Deal with it, at least I did not lie to you and say I was fine.  Especially after I was just puking my guts out, but still had to come to work to ring out your lousy a**!”

How about telling someone to have a nice day? Do you really care if they have a nice day?  Probably not, or maybe you do… here is one I know some people totally hate to hear.  When someone dies you hear a lot of “I’m sorry.” Or “I’m sorry for your loss.”  Well why are you sorry? Did you kill the person?  You can’t really argue with that phrase though there is nothing better to say…believe me I’ve been searching.

So I say stop being fake, find a nice, honest…yet not rude way to let people know what’s really going on.  We are big kids now, deal with it!

As a matter of fact I had a customer just the other day that was not afraid to let me know how he felt about me! Kudos to you Mr. Customer, you can be my first rude S.O.B I list.  Why?

Because you forgot to be honest without being rude!!!

Here are two very rude customers…perhaps you both should learn social skills before leaving home next time;

 Polan, Lyn

Shakir, Asim
