World Citizen

Last night I saw Babel again at the cinema. The film was as stunning as the first time and wonderful to see in print, however the cinema experience has left me yet again with the impression that most people shouldn’t go to the cinema to watch serious films; they’re far too ignorant. Culturally and emotionally ignorant and immature.

After the film I spent three hours walking in the city by myself listening to the Babel soundtrack.
A Maxibon to cut the heat, Coke to cut the Maxibon, and pizza to cut the coke.
Hours and hours in the city at night, crowds with their intricate dances, bright lights, cars, the smells of cigarettes, alcohol, food, exhaust – heat.
Time for healing.

I’ve figured out why I don’t sleep. When I’m asleep I don’t heal.

i dont know why, but i cant bring myself to eat the biscuit end of any ice-creams like maxibons, i just cant. Coke and pizza, i could do with some! Damn drinking two bottles of red over 5hours, usually i’m ok, but over a long period you dont get drunk, you just consume too much and feel it the next morning. I must admit, I have only been to Melbourne once, and I felt so at home. It is a comforting and relaxing city to just wander around. I am someone who doesnt walk a city with my head down, I look up because otherwise you miss the beautiful architecture and art… and boy does the city have a lot of that! Newcastle is great for it too… although not on as grand a scale as Melbourne

I thought Babel was an excellent movie. I got a lot out of it. I’m hearing impaired myself, and although I don’t sign I completely identified with the young Japanese girl and her struggle to realise her sexuality. I was also fascinated by the Japanese culture. So different to here! (I live in Brisbane). And the biscuit part of a Maxibon is the best bit! Random Aussie noter.

are you gonna be one of the people first in line to see Frank Miller’s (sin city) new movie, 300?? My coworkers keep bragging about it. @_@ -lyam
