I am trying to remember now, where and when it was I read this, or something much like it;

Sometimes we may only observe. Often we don’t immediately understand why, and we may never understand, but observe we must. We cannot ignore it. It must be witnessed, seen and experienced. Just as all good things must be celebrated, perhaps all sorrowful things must be mourned.

And mourning itself is a kind of celebration – not in the literal acknowledgement of joy or success, but in the acknowledgement of balance, richness, and the power of experience; its very worth.

I had never thought that I would ever have the kinds of thoughts I am having now, yet I find myself swimming, drowning in such things. I am at once more vulnerable, more exposed, more disoriented. I am at once more wise and more enriched than I ever have been.

That, I think, was me.
Just now.
