Music, food, sex and zombies.

Yes.
Zombies.

So I’m back into music like the junkie that I am.

Currently on rotation is Morgan Geist’s album Double Night Time, of which the most outstanding track is Nocebo. This track literally is, as I believe the kids say these days, the sex (though ‘the’ is usually written ‘teh’. Don’t ask). For all of those losers trying to do electro out there in the pop-music world, get yourselves copies of Double Night Time and Metro Area (of which Geist is one half), and give them both a good listen. Then go sit in the corner and cry, because you will never be this good.

I’m finding I’m drawing a lot of parallels between music, food and sex, sometimes between all three at once, which is quite an achievement. The trifecta though is usually quite rare, and only works with really really good things like wine and coffee, or something like All that makes us human continues, by BT… from This Binary Universe… in-case you wanted to buy it down at the shops.

And then lie on your back in the dark while you hear it and imagine slowly and sensuously exploring the body of your lover while in, I don’t know, zero gravity. Or something.
I shouldn’t predispose you to imagine any specific imagery when listening to This Binary Universe, everyone visualises different things. I often see many different things depending on my mood, and often several things at once. Sex though is always great with amazing music. Food is always great with amazing music. Food is always great with… amazing sex? (edited: this bit didn’t make sense just now, but now does). But of-course – often after a really amazing meal, you just feel satisfaction all over your body through the combination and progression of amazing flavours, it’s almost already a sexual experience in itself, but being inspired to play afterwards is just as phenomenal, as long as your stomach permits you!

Em… zombies.
Yeah.
Well, remember how a month ago I wrote two really boring articles about how I don’t play games any-more? They were long and pretty much circular, but I wanted to write them for myself to record how I felt about the industry, so I don’t mind that others found them insufferably dull. In any case, I probably haven’t bought a game in 8 months or so, but last week I got Left 4 Dead, and since purchasing it, Rocke and I have been playing it almost every night – co-op of-course, we’re not vs people, if you know what I mean. We play private games so no strangers can join, but the dynamic is bloody awesome. This is how games should be – they should be atmospheric, tons of fun, and they should just work.
Seeing no less than 50 zombies SPRINTING – no, not running, SPRINTING AT FULL TILT towards you is an amazing sight. It’s crazy, frantic, awesome fun.
Yay! I’m playing games again! Well, just one. And after we tire of this, I will go back to snubbing it all and catching up on my films.

Food is always great with exceptional wine and even better music: nothing compliments eating sushi off your lovers body in the semi darkness to classical music, Chicane, Endorphin or the the dulcet tones of nine simone (or norah jones, whomever you prefer). There’s a trifecta right there.

the first ever movie I saw was a 1970s horror about brain eating zombies and torturous ring masters, have loved them ever since.
