Compression

After the rarefaction, the compression is inevitable
Today is a day of excess
There is too much
Third party failures are particularly trying, directly and indirectly
Beautiful things are poisoned by bad necessities
The trying things keep rushing in the flood
The good things keep departing
Pragmatism bores the most interesting ones, drives them away
They eventually return to antagonise and then I’m at odds with everything
Combat for them is a kind of play
I can appreciate that
I enjoy it
But combat is only necessitated by the poorest of environments
The timing is all wrong
Or all right
And all right

One of them keeps removing me from certain memories
Certain frames and phrasings where I am the anchor
Without the anchor, and without my placement in mode
Each memory has its context removed
It gives me a haunted feeling
Beautiful
Displaced
All of those emotions that can only be translated into the poorest of adjectives

I’m told that I should eat
– You should eat.
And the mechanics are engaged to pursue the action
Some of it gets through
Not the things I would expect
I note that I don’t feel the sensation to throw it up and so this is in one respect a relief
— It kills you, that stuff.
This particular visitor hates food in general
I agree with much of the sentiment
The action is barbaric, disgusting
Mechanics of destruction
One of the least evolved first-principles
There’s a fascination in the observation of the action
Some uncomfortable squirming of the spine and shoulders
Pressing of the lips
Furrowing of the brow and a wince in the eye
— Lips are for touch, eyes for speech.
The hair as a sail in the winds of nature
Directed across the undulations of the world
Between the rays of sunlight
Through the rare and nourishing rain
And the noise intrudes beyond some measure of proximity
Within the sphere it is unwelcome
Just out of it, a vague and beautiful language
Today is a day of endurance
It will be measured
At the conclusion of all this pragmatism, the bankers will bank
Accountants will examine in minute detail what the costs have been
Generate meta-data and generate abstracts from it
To stand back and get an overall impression of what has been transacted
What has been gained
What has been lost
Shared
What we have been fortunate to have been a part of
What we seek to prevent
They crowd in an infinite tower
An orgy of measurements and speculation
While pedestrians move through the space to be fascinated by languages they don’t understand
It is a very focussed hive of activity
The density of the population makes it volatile
And in this singularity I learn one more whole fact about what is called my illness
That I become more hesitant to call anything
An environment that is labelled and re-branded a thousand times per minute

And on the exact opposite end of that universe
Three figures move in isolation
I either am one of them
Or I am with them
And they may not have anything at all to do with me

And I thought this was going to a speal on the advantages of compression clothing 🙂
