yeah well,
it started so strongly, had a few really good episodes in the middle there, but i’ve got to say, fairly disappointing overall.

Joan was way too cool for everyone – easily my favourite character. she reminds me so much of Daria that i actually started missing her (Daria) – ah Daria, my first love… i really didn’t think any of the other characters had attributes to match Joan’s – she was fantastic.

Ghandi would have to be my next favourite, but some of his antics have just been done too many times before – as chibi-r has said, some of the gags in clone high have been done in the simpsons perhaps a million times (by now) and quite some time ago too. still, Ghandi was cool most of the time.

to be honest, JFK was hillarious. the play on his speech and his overall stupidity was genuinely funny. his moment in the last episode was also great, though unfortunately i don’t think they followed it up with enough to honour the true JFK they portrayed on the steps there towards the end.

i must say, Cleopatra and Abe were the two most ordinary figures – very very plain indeed, very much done to death throughout entertainment history. Cleopatra was just the usual stereotype she portrayed, and Abe was exactly the kind of character that annoys the hell out of me in a narrative. he is portrayed as such a ‘nice guy’, but in effect compromises his values at the drop of a hat. JFK had more integrity than he did. i know it’s a comedy, but it’s still portraying something i’m violently against. Abe was actually the only character to succesfully rip-off every single one of his friends – multiple times, and all because of his lack of confidence and basic intelligence.
i didn’t like you Abe – i didn’t like you one bit. Joan deserves better.

marie currie was tres scary.

there could have been more main characters perhaps – other historical figures made cameos or were supporting cast with few lines and appearences, but overall i thought there could have been a few more with more attention on them.

Joan still deserved a happy ending though damnit.
