anime hiatus

In the wake of the magnifficence that was Hachikuro II, I’m officially taking a break from anime to watch the second and concluding season of the HBO production Carnivale. The DVD set was released in Australia a few weeks ago, and I’m now fully in the mood to watch it while letting Hachikuro linger in my anime-brain, and leaving it untainted by any other productions for the time-being.

When I do resume anime though, hopefully we’ll have the last episode of Strawberry Panic!, some more Aria the Natural, and the first half of Nana. I’m also considering testing Kanon 2006 in light of seeing and liking the first version, revisiting Ergo Proxy after some interesting discussion over at ANN, Aishteruze Baby!, Ouran Host Club, and The moment the cicadas cry among others. I might also give Maho-sensei Negima and Ginban Kaleidoscope another honest go as I’ve had them for ages, but never viewed past the first few episodes.
