21 Grams | Rez HD

I seem to be going backwards though Alejandro González Iñárritu’s loosely connected trilogy, however doing so means I’ve been spoilt by the production with the most polish. That being said, I still greatly enjoyed the second film 21 grams. I scored it 8, behind the 9 I gave to Babel.
What stood out the most for me was Naomi Watt’s absolutely brilliant performance. Her show of emotion is so raw and so real, the sheer energy she acts with is amazing.
Overall the story feels a little more contrived than that of Babel, which is probably why I liked the later more, nevertheless, Benicio Del Toro’s troubled ex-con is as emotionally deep as Watt’s bereaved widow.
Also, though a minor role, the film includes Charlotte Gainsbourg, which is a plus in my book.

Rez HD – where to start. If widescreen weren’t enough of an eye-popper, the surround sound makes it even better. The whole experience is even more alive than it was years ago when we first played it on the PS2, and for those who had it, the Dreamcast. This seems to be what Rez was always intended to be; bright, loud and full of vibrance. The graphical presentation also hasn’t dated at all, at least it hasn’t for those whose tastes are of the sci-fi and cyberpunk persuasion.
This has to be one of the greatest games ever created.

I’m too afraid to see 21grams.. lol! I know I’m a woos! ryn: Well honestly, the thing was in the morning when it wasn’t quite so warm and i only expected it to be an hour long.. So thought I’d be well and truly home before it got crazy hot. Only it turned out I had to walk home during the hottest part of the day… Joyus!
