Lies…A necessary evil

 As the title suggest, the purpose of this writing deals with lies and how they are in fact necessary. Lies are a part of life and not one of us are immune to them and everyone lies no matter who or what they are. They are out there and they will always be around whether we want them to be or not.

 There are different types of lies and although we are taught that lies are a bad thing and the truth is always the best and it will set you free, so to speak, the telling of a lie can in fact be a necessity and beneficial at times but as always their are certain circumstances and conditions that do apply.

 Lawyers are paid to lie, well not exactly lie but to manipulate the truth. Parents lie to their children in order to protect them or keep them from being hurt like in the case of a pet dying. Doctors even lie on occassion to lessen the effect of bad news such as an immanent death but most of the time this is rare but it does happen. Clergy even lie and they do this all the time but they do so to help ease the loss of a loved one by saying that they are with their maker but for followers of the Bible they know it is a lie for the departed is sleeping until the day of the rapture.

 All these lies are told to us in order to help ease a pain that we might be feeling and to just give us some sort of comfort and they do help alot of times. Even with all that has been said, honesty and telling the truth is still the best policy  even if the truth does hurt.
