Things you say when your mad
Ever notice you’re more prone to saying how you truly feel or what you are thinking when you’re mad? After said statement you might feel happy or relieved or maybe you’re on the other end and regret it…but why? Why would you regret saying something you feel? If you are the one listening and not talking, do you focus on what’s said to you while the individual is mad or do you discredit it and blame emotions? I can’t seem to “erase” what was said to me…
This is absolutely true about people! If you want to know how someone truly feels about you, just get them upset enough to reveal it for you.
It’s like a form of the Freudian slip, only, it’s intentionally directed to hurt you! It is cathartic to the person spewing the venom, though once the dust settles, they realize their true feelings have been revealed… I think that’s where the guilt comes from; not guilt, so much as shame that their true feelings are now known by the recipient…If it’s a friend, the recipient may decide to end the friendship; if it’s a relationship, it may end the relationship; People hold things in for many reasons, though mostly to keep a certain level of peace.
The reality is, if people always revealed their true opinions of others, the world would be an even more violent and unhealthy world than it already is.
