why hello there, life …

Wow.

It was an ovulating kind of weekend.

No time to write about it presently.

Here’s a jumble of images:

Persian pastries (a gift from Mr. G that I ended up sharing with a blind woman on the street).
Barber’s violin concerto and tears leaking out of my eyelids in the Orpheum.
Knitting in a Starbucks.
Noticing that my eyes are sparkling back at me when I look in the mirror.
Talking till 1:30 am with two new acquaintances, one of whom lives a block away from me and has kind eyes.
Brooks overflowing into nearby fields (drowning my shortcuts to work).
My neice giggling at a funny rhyme.
My nephew gazing with rapt joy at our reflections in my Oma’s mirror.
Overhearing a newish guy at church asking someone who I was: "Oh that’s P1’s sister I think … "
Mr. G telling me I am very pretty in an English sort of way (?).
Yellow umbrella making pretty sounds in the rain.
The coming-home ritual including shaking off the scarf and gloves.
Candles around the apartment.

Wow.

I guess that storm front that is innudating Seattle & environs is soaking you too. Funny, the maps on our weather reports here seem to treat BC as terra incognita for geographically challenged Americans of the United States persuasion. I like your one-liners. There is a succinct intensity of poetry in them along with delightful ellipses. I’ve been busy with my practice in the last month or so.I pray that all continues well with you & yours. Ciao,

I can’t tell you how much I adore the Barber Violin Concerto. Every time I hear it (and it has been hundreds of times that I’ve heard it, now) it makes me cry, sometimes with sadness, other times with joy. It’s certainly on my Desert Island List! I loved this entry; so many of those individual lines evoked beautiful images and deep feeling. I’m so glad you’re doing well.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that this is actually a really effective way to experience an entry for me. I love a shared jumble of images.

My clarinetist grad student friend saw Ehnes playing Barber too! He said it was a good concert. 🙂
