Ongoing Prayers Needed for Mom
Yesterday, I had to take mom to St. Mary’s Outpatient Clinic.
She never mentioned anything about not feeling well when I went to pick her up from the nursing home. Neither did the staff. The 1.5 hr. trip, nothing was mentioned. All she talked about was the stuff that she’s been participating in at the nursing home.
Get in the Cardio-Vascular clinic. Meet the C-V RN. And then into the exam room for the basic vitals. While sitting in there, mom says: "I didn’t take all my meds this morning." I look at her and said: "why not?" She says: "because I didn’t feel very good." I look at her and the RN and I say: "Mom, you have to speak up about this. Because now, they can’t run the MRA. Her temp was 99.3. The only test they can do today is a doppler. And we already have those results." The RN looked at mom and said: "Your daughter is right." "You need to say something to the staff at the nursing home." Mom looked at me and said: "I didn’t know." I told her it was ok.
The doctor came in. He ran the doppler on her legs and said: "It is very important that you tell the nursing staff if you don’t feel well. We can’t give you the proper treatment, if you can’t help us. And right now, you need help. You have no blood flow to your right foot. This is why your feet turn purple if you don’t elevate them. If you don’t feel well before an appt. please inform the nursing staff, so they can call us." Then he went on an explained to her what would happen to her if nothing was done about the diminished blood flow.
What bothers me the most is: I wasted a whole day driving to Madison just to be told they can’t do the test. That is annoying. Now I have to take off another day to do it all over again in 2 wks.
Other than that……I’ve had the flu already. How nasty!!! It’s the worst I’ve had it. Hope none of you get it. If you do, bleach everything. That’s how I got rid of it in 2 days.
Tomorrow, Saturday, I have a date with my 9 yr. old grandson Isaac. We are going to the movie: Where The Wild Things Are. Each year for his birthday, I take him to a movie of his choice. This year it’s been hard for him to decide which movie. Because he has 3 favorites:
1. Where the Wild Things Are
2. Toy Story 1&2 in 3D
3. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
But he made his choice and we will stick to #1. Movie starts at 1pm here in Platteville. This also means nana will be buying a kids pack for the both of us. Popcorn, candy and drink for $4. Good deal.
Stay warm everyone. Ooo. The sun is out. About time!! We’ve had rain and snow for several days. And it’s cold here. 38º.
