pink wafer biscuits

i’m back at uni now.. got back a few hours ago. my reason being insane distractions back home (i.e. friends, bars, pizza hut) so i thought it best to go back to the university of dork, (york, surely? – ed) where i can be my swotty self with my politics books.

ooh, i went to see the pianist last night, with my chappie. it was very.. harrowing. i knew nothing of the storyline (maybe that’s a good thing). little innocent miss sock thought that it (i know this might be a bit abstract) would be about a pianist who plays stuff. he must play about ten minutes in a two and a half hour film. it’s a pianist who is a polish jew and tells the tale of him survival during the second war. gripping, painful stuff, but was suprised to see maureen lipman play the mother of the pianist, but then, she seems to embody all jewish mothers, as i’ve never seen anyone else play one but her. the lovely man who plays the pianist is just so painfully thin, even at the start.. and at the end i was desperate to sit with him and feed him biscuits, especially the special pink wafer ones that you get in the fox’s family favourites tin. which is proof that it’s a good film, as i won’t part with the pink wafers for nothing.

we went to the independent cinema down the road and it’s fantastic because you can buy mugs of tea and coffee and take them into the film with you, and at the end you hand it back and say ‘thank you.’ all very quaint. and you could buy a decent sized box of popcorn for 60p, which is practically unheard of.. anywhere.

Do you think he deserved the Oscar though?

wooo, deja vu.

Those pink wafer ones are a bit insubstantial in nourishing a person. I’d go for a big fat Hobnob, or a pack of Digestives. That’ll do a better job. This is the first entry I’ve ever read in all my years of OD where someone put in their own ‘Ed’ comment in brackets. You’re insane.

Glad you decided to follow the flock =0)

Oh please don’t pay a fiver to go and see Rules of Attraction in case you think it’s shit and blame me. I liked it lots but one of my favourite films is Clueless. Not that they’re at all similar but you see, I don’t mind watching crap films. Anyway, what I’m saying is, see it if you fancy it but go on cheap night and don’t scream at me if you don’t like it. Pleeeeeeeeease x

Pink wafer biscuits are the best. But they have to be the Fox’s ones though. These ‘Sainsburys own’ and ‘Pink Panther wafers’ will just not do.. xxx
