london boy

so much for my productive days at uni, eh? hahahahaha. what a lark. this morning i got up and had to wait for me to get my shopping delivered (it’s either £10 taxi fare to get me there and back, or £5 for me to have it delivered) and then i remembered i ordered heat magazine so that had to be read. then some lunch, then some sitting in my room because i was depressed, and finally i managed to collar tony (my housemate) and ask him if he wanted to go onto campus to sit in the sun and read for a bit. it was a twenty minute trek but, by god, it was worth it. the sun was really beating down and we put out feet in the fountain (dirty layabouts) and cracked open this humongous bottle of stella that we’d found in the fridge. we sat just to the right of here, and put our feet in the fountain that you can see.

and to make it even better, we had this lovely view behind us (this is a little spot called ‘the quiet place’). i’d drunk the majority of my stella by now, which was making reading on liberty a little difficult.

however, i’m surely misleading you into thinking that york is some ancient university with beautiful buildings and the like, and surely these pictures above are just a brief snapshot of the campus. not so. this place was built in the sixties, and the builders must’ve been architecturally and stylistically impotent to build such a campus. this is the view we have from across the lake.

nice, eh? anyway, the afternoon was made much more eventful due to the fact that tony tried to make me drink the rest of his stella (wimp) and on the way over to bring it to me (i lying in the sun, him in the shade) he slipped in some duck poo. ho ho! it was a sight. it was all over his foot and on his trousers! so he had to go into the fountain to try and wash it off. urgh! suddenly london boy mr tony ‘i really like being up here compared to london, the quiet and the peace is so fantastic’ obado suddenly became very much the city boy again. at least he agreed my suggestion that he’d now become ‘one with the earth.’ but i think he’d have chosen not to bother.

were these ones the culprits? they have looks on their faces that say ‘ha ha, i’ve just done a poo.’

Well, it seems that you will have to wait for the pictures until I hit the big 3-0 on here! Sorry. The entry’s available at http://musical-sock.afrodiary.com

I reckon if I told my friend Lesley that I knew somebody at York Uni she would think I was trying some sordid stalking tactic. Alas. Hurray for Afro.

How did you know it was duck poo? I mean, was the offending duck hanging around to see which idiot slipped into its offering and then quacked itself sick with merriment at seeing your friend? These are the details you need to include, seriously. For real.

Am I the only person in the whole world without a diary on afrodiary? Boo hoo. Will go over though to see the pics, I love York, something to do with my Northern blood or something I reckon.
