Renal Failure
We had to have our cat put down tonight. It’s one of the hardest moments our family has ever endured, simultaneously. We’ve had him 9 yrs, most of which have not been healthy for him. He’s had herpes, an eye ulcer, and tonight tests revealed renal failure. It was time for his suffering to end. He wasn’t eating, he’d lost 1/3 of his weight and was dehydrated. He’d been lethargic for days. He was vomiting and urinating sporadically. When we rescued him 9 yrs ago, he immediately fell in love with my eldest, and she him. They were the very best of friends. They were inseparable, and he always knew when she needed him. When she cried, he would run to her. She’s feeling empty arms tonight, and needs the solace that he can provide. I am a mess. I can’t stop crying because of how sad I am for my entire family. He was our boy. I know we’ll get through this….but tonight is going to be tough. 🙁
*hugs*

Oh hun… I don’t know you, but I just want to hug you. I am so sorry for you and your families loss. It’s always so hard to lose one of our furbabies. Just remember, he’s not suffering anymore and you did the right thing for him. *HUGS*
