Back online (sort of)

Hi there!

Yes I am technically back online, in my own home.  I was able to get my old desktop back from my BIL who has been storing it for about 3 years.  It’s amazing how you become comfortable with one type of machine and then have to go back to another.  I remember when I first tried to use a laptop – I hated it!  I thought I would never get used to it but I did, and now the reverse has happened.  I’m trying to get re-used to this big ole’ keyboard and this mouse thingy LOL.   I don’t have a computer table anymore so I’m using a TV dinner tray in the meantime.  It’s not an ideal situation but it works okay for now.  I am grateful for having been able to use the computers at the library, it is a very nice library.  I plan on going back there soon.  As much as I love love love my Kindle, I do enjoy just being in the physical company of so many wonderful books.  It’s just a very calming and comforting place to me.

Well I am not going to write a big old entry – I am concentrating on trying to catch up with your lives!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  It’s beautiful here but a cool – maybe some snow showers tomorrow 🙁

Welcome back! Guess i am opposite, i like my desk top…lol You have been very missed[hugs]

How wonderful that you will be able to visit Open Diary and all of your other favorite websites from home. Much more comfortable. Although, the library is nice for a change of pace. I just always disliked having to rush for a computer before they were all checked out. I also disliked the time limit.

YAY for being on the computer at home!!! I always liked going to the library but have to say I havent been in a very long time. You actually used that mouse pad on the laptop? I HATE that part of a laptop and I disable it and get a tiny mouse to use. LOL!

took me a while to get used to th laptop without a mouse. i switch back and forth between that and the big ole desktop that i have on the kitchen counter.

I’m with Sandee on this one – I absolutely hate the laptop mouse pad. I’ve also disabled mine & bought a mouse that travels with my laptop. LOL I don’t mind using a desktop computer or a laptop, although I prefer laptops (now that I own one) but I’m still used to using both. At home (Butch’s) mom uses the desktop to do most of her homework, and her little netbook to play her games. Usually I’m using the desktop to help her with her College Writing assignments. So don’t mind it at all.

I love holding a book…but I certainly am being drawn to the Kindle! Our local library is beginning to advertise about what you can download to Kindle from them. The library of the future is definitely going to look very different. Glad you’re back back home. 🙂

I’ve thought about getting a Kindle, but I keep thinking I could buy a lot of books for the price of the Kindle. I usually get my books from Overstock.com. If I would go to the local library (something I did all the time as a kid), I could save money. I like the feel of a real book. By the way, welcome back, desktop computer and all.

I am very happy that you have a computer to use. It is weird switching from a desk top to a lap top and then back again. I’m so glad you are back!!! Biggest hugs and lots of love

Praise God for His blessings!! :*)) I am so happy you can get online at home. I love it, to just be in my jammies and sipping coffee, or ??? yeah, you get it. I love you and thanks for your notes honey. bighugz,

RYN: This will be the first time that I’ll be openly talking about my sexuality in front of an audience & that scares me the most. Thankfully it’s not open to the public, only open to those attending the college. That makes it a bit easier, because students see Butch & I together all the time. You’re right, Mom will be there with me, and I think that she’d be proud of me also. I’m also willing to bet Mom would’ve also told me to breath to keep calm as well. Butch knows how scared I am, and last night on the phone she said “Just remember baby girl, I’ll be right there beside you.”

I have tried using Chucks laptop but it is so frustrating. I am glad to hear that if I ever need to just have a laptop there is a possibility that I will be able to adjust. Also nice to hear I can get a mouse for one. Glad your back!

Good to see you back on the scene. I like the library too, but the one I go to gives time constraints for using the computers there. So it’s not such a peaceful place to use it. I always feel under the gun because someone is waiting for the station I’m using after 1 hour is up.
