A To Z – *PART ONE*

Hello,

I am still struggling with some issues I can’t yet talk about but in the meantime, I thought I would try something a little light hearted.

I have stolen this from the lovely JezzyBelle! When I was contemplating stealing it, I didn’t realize that you had to pick your own topics for each letter. Finding that out scared me a bit but I decided to see if I can keep it interesting by just using the first thing that comes to mind.

A – ANIMALS. I love them so much, especially dogs. It’s been years since I have lived someplace that would allow us to have a pet. If I had a house and a yard, I would have at least 2 dogs, no particular breed but definitely rescue dogs. My first pet was a fiesty little Chihuahua name Pepi. He got out one day and was killed by a car. My last pet was a rescue dog named Daisy. She was the greatest! She was a Sheltie/Shepard mix and such a sweetheart. She pretended to be ferocious, barking like crazy if anyone knocked on the door, but everyone knew you just had to say her name and she’d start wagging her tail and trying to give you kisses. I had to put her to sleep when she got old and could barely stand up. She was in constant pain and though it broke my heart, I knew I had to do it. I couldn’t make her suffer just because I would miss her so much. I still tear up just thinking about how much joy she brought me.

B- BOYS. Stay away from my granddaughters!! It’s so hard to believe that one day my little angels will choose some cootie infested boy over spending time with me, but I know it will happen. I wonder if it will be any easier to handle with granddaughters than with daughters?

C-CARS. *sigh* This never seems to be a good subject in my life. I’ve only had one brand new car and that was bought way back in 1987! Since then, they’ve all been used, some more than others. Our current vehicle, a 2004 Dodge Stratus, has been pretty good to us. I knowit needs some major work and we definitely cannot afford it. I’m afraid we will just end up driving it till it dies and I pray that doesn’t happen for at least another year. In the meantime, I just continue to do timely oil changes and hope for the best.

D-DENNY’S. Wow, that was random lol. Do they have Denny’s everywhere? I don’t know why that popped into my head except possibly because I’ve been craving pancakes. I ate there about 2 months ago, first time in forever, and I must say they still do a pretty good breakfast at a decent price.

E-ELEPHANTS. I love them! Of course I’ve never known one personally but I think I’ve had a soft spot for them ever since I first read "DUMBO". I think what really draws me to them is the way they love each other. I mean they actually grieve when one dies, make friends for life, comfort each other, laugh and play with each other. Yes they really do laugh!

F-FOOD. Could there be any other word for F? Hey, get your minds out of the gutter! Of course there could be other F words but food is always a topic everyone likes. What is your very favorite food? What would you choose for your last meal? I think my favorite foods have to be tomatoes, peanut butter, good bread and good chocolate. I think I could easily and happily live off of these 4 items for quite some time. I think my last meal would be a surf and turf; a good steak, medium, salad, brussel sprouts, some crusty bread with real butter and either stuffed flounder or shrimp scampi.

G-GIRLFRIENDS. Where would we be without our girlfriends? I know I am incredibly lucky and blessed to have such good friends. I’ve said it so many times but it’s true. There have been some shifts in the relationships in the last year or so. My friend Cathy, who lives in GA and I rarely talk anymore and I’m not sure why. We used to never go a day without speaking at least once and usually more than that. I know a part of it is because she is so busy but it makes me sad when I think about it. My other friend Debbie is the one I am having the falling out with that I mentioned a few entries back. I still can’t really talk about it, I still feel hurt and now I’m feeling a lot of angry brought forth by a phone call she initiated the other day. I’m not sure when or if our relationship will get back to the way it was and that makes me very sad as well.

H-HOUSE. I want one. Even if it’s a rental. I don’t see any time in the immediate future where Aimee and I will be able to afford to live apart. Most of the time I’m okay with that but I think it would do all of us good to have more space. And I would love for the girls to have a yard to play in. And a patio where we can BBQ and sit outside. I love to be outside at in the late afternoon and at night. That scenario, grilling burgers, having friends over, the kids running around the yard, just makes my heart happy.

I-ICE CREAM. Surprisingly, for someone with such a sweet tooth, I’m not a big fan. That’s not to say I won’t eat a bowl, especially if it has a bunch of stuff in it (nuts, brownie bites, etc.). And last summer I discovered that I do really like coconut ice cream.  I’m really a cake girl but feel free to throw a scoop on top 🙂

J-JOY.  When I think of the word joy the first thing that comes to mind are my girls, Makayla and Leah.  I honestly don’t know what I would do without them.  I miss them when they are not here and every time they come home I am filled with happiness.  I couldn’t possibly ask for more joy than my grandchildren give me.

K-This one is a tie.  Two thoughts came to my mind almost simultaneously.  Kissing and Krispy Kreme!  What a combination lol.  I love them both.  It’s been quite a while since I’ve engaged in any romantic kissing but I’m pretty content with the sweet kisses I get from little angels.  I must confess, it hasn’t been that long for Krispy Kreme donuts.  If you’re not familiar with Krispy Kreme go here: http://www.krispykreme.com/home  They are the home of the original glazed donuts and if you have had a hot one, then you know what heaven tastes like lol.  I’m not sure if it’s a blessing or a curse, but we now live within 5 minutes of a KK and it has a drive-thru!  I’ve only been there twice in the six months we’ve lived here, but that red sign "hot doughnuts now", calls my name every time I drive by it.

Krispy Kreme is heaven on earth! It will get better. I don’t know when but it will. Maybe we will get our situations better at the same time. Lots of hugs and love

Subway and a donut shop are right across the street from my home. I was going to Subway every day. That’s how I gained so much weight. But let’s not talk about weight. Let’s talk about good food and how much we enjoy it. LOL!

Food would not have been my first choice. LOL! Yes there are Dennys EVERYWHERE! We go every once in a while when we feel like spending way too much money. Girlfriends is a good one. Sadly I have none here but IM working on it. I remember the Krispy Kreme in the city I grew up in. We would go there almost every week and get a dozen for that mornings breakfast. Back then they were 3x’sthe size they are now. Eating them warm is the most amazing thing. YUMMM!!! It really surprised me when people started going gaga over them around here. I mean. They were a normal part of my life.

There is a Denny’s here. For a VERY long time I couldn’t stand them, service and cleanliness, but I’ve found a nearby one that works well. I rarely eat donuts and the only Krispy Kreme I’ll eat is a hot one. Don’t like ’em cold. Went to the store where they make them and after they gave me my sample (hot!) donut I wasn’t in the mood for any more. LOL! But, I bought one cos.. well, itwould have been rude not to. lol 🙂
