08/20/2009 **EDIT**
Hi everyone,
**EDIT** GOT EVICTED TODAY
Well Makayla attended school two days this week and she loved it. The first day she came home so cranky because she was exhausted. She is like her mom and grandma, a real night owl. It will take a while for her to adjust. They do take naps every day. The first day she didn’t sleep but the second day she did. I’m so thrilled about this whole situation. I have been a little concerned about her for awhile. I know I’ve mentioned before how much energy she has and let me tell you, when I say she has a lot of energy, she has a LOT of energy. She NEVER stops. She runs, jumps, dances, climbs, and skips through life. She is so different than Aimee when she was her age. You could give Aimee some Barbie’s or books or set her in front of the TV and she would amuse herself easily for an hour or so. Makayla wants constant interaction and is easily bored and ready to move onto something else. Well old, fat and disabled grandma can only do so much LOL. She really needs structure and room to run and other kids to play with. I worried she might have difficulty adjusting, but so far so good. Unfortunately, her school flooded last night so they are closed today and tomorrow. She was very disappointed this morning!
I got some sad news last night. I know this family of three brothers. We went to elementary school together and have had periodic contact throughout the years. The middle son was probably the worst alcoholic I ever knew. He had a heart of gold but could not get a handle on his drinking although he tried many times. He died in July from cancer. Then 2 days ago, the youngest brother and another guy I know were killed in a car accident. There mother is a lovely woman and now she is going to have bury her second son in as many months. I honestly don’t know how someone survives that kind of pain.
Aimee ended up having two job interviews today. She said they both went pretty well but she was late to both of them. The first was a last minute interview that she got this morning. They gave her very confusing directions and she got lost and ended a few minutes late. Then the kept her waiting for almost an hour which made her about 5 minutes late for the second interview. Hopefully one of them was bowled over by her personality and skills and will offer her a job in spite of the lateness. God I hope so. Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts.
Spaghetti for dinner last night and leftovers tonight. It was really good but I don’t care if I see any more spaghetti for a while. Had homegrown tomato sandwich for lunch. And a bowl of sliced cucumber with vinegar. YUM.
I’m visiting with family for a few days. Saturday I am going to visit more family in Front Royal, which is one of my favorite places. It is so beautiful and peaceful there. Hope everyone has a good weekend. I know some of you have asked for prayers and please know I am praying for your situations.
(((((((((HUGS))))))))))
Thank you for your prayers and I certainly am keeping you ard your family in mine. I hate to hear about the devastating losses that mother had to bear. I don’t know if I could handle such a thing. (((Hugs)))

That is so wonderful that she is adjusting to her school. Its so important for a child to get that interaction. It will make it much easier when she attends regular school. Im very proud of her. I am so sorry for your friends. {{hugs}} I cant imagine what their mother is going through. My thoughts are with her.

Ann, I am so sorry! I wish there were something we could do. Shoot, at this point I wish our townhouse was still empty so you could stay there. PLEASE let me know if there is anything we can do.

Do you have family or friends you can stay with? What about calling churches in the area to see if any of them have any kind of help for you? If you’d like, I can call the Unity Church we attended to see if anyone there might be able to help. Please don’t hesitate to call if you want me to do that. 901-483-2212
