Hello everyone,
Thank you for your notes on my last entry. It was just something that’s been traveling around in my head for a while. I actually have a few more letters that I might make an entry out of some other day.
I think I am about about 80% caught up on my favs. Some of you have been, and in some cases still going through, some very hard times. I’m sorry I haven’t been around to be more supportive of you. As I was telling another diarist, sometimes I just have to take a break from here. I don’t know why, but I do always seem to come back refreshed and ready to write so I consider it a good thing. I am grateful to those of you who stick around and keep me on your lists when I do leave.
I just got through doing a whole sinkful of dinner dishes from last night. Our dishwasher is broken but I really don’t mind. I actually prefer to do them by hand. I find it soothing for some reason. I usually eat separately from the rest of the household but I have appointed myself the queen of kitchen cleanup no matter whose mess it is. I am so particular about clean up in the kitchen. The water must be scalding hot, the dish cloth must be clean, everything wiped down, and the sink must be scrubbed afterwards. I can’t stand the thought of ever have to go through the bug situation I went through in our old apartment. I know living in an apartment building you always run the risk of bugs no matter how clean you are, but I definitely do my part. Fortunately I have not seen one in the 2 months we have lived here and I pray I never do!
I continue to be heartsick over the tragedy in Japan. What those poor people are going through is just unthinkable. I did see on TV the other day that our cable company is offering free phone service to Japan and they are making the Japanese channel free to everyone. I thought that was a really nice gesture.
I am still struggling to get back on track with my eating. I just cannot grasp that mentality I had last year. I just keep praying that I will get it back. I am seriously considering going to Weight Watchers or TOPS to try and get back in the groove. My biggest downfall seems to be eating out. I don’t know if I mentioned it or not, but my other best friend (besides Bonnie) lives directly across the street from me now. Her name is Debbie and I have mentioned her many times in my diary. We grew up in the same neighborhood and have been friends for more than 35 years. Well Debbie eats every single meal out. And she always invites me along, most of the time offering to pay for it since I she knows I can’t afford it. The first month I was here I went out with her almost every night but I have slowly but surely cut it down to a few nights a week. I want to cut it out completely because it’s bad for me and because I hate not being able to pay my own way. I do sometimes and about 1 out of 5 times I will buy her meal as well but calorie wise it’s just the worst thing for me. I’m not blaming her, no one forces me to go but I do enjoy it so much. The food and the company. She needs to lose weight too so I’m going to try and talk her into maybe going to WW or TOPS with me. It will be very hard for her to diet because she hates vegetables and fruits, loves soda and most everything else that’s bad for you. I am lucky in that I LOVE fruits and veggies and can do very well without soda or red meat or fast food. I have no excuse for not eating properly, I just need to get back into it! We have also been saying we are going to start going for walks when the weather gets warm. I think we need to start now because it seems like spring weather is never going to get here! Please, if you are the praying type, say one for me that I can get back on track.
I’m still having trouble adjusting to this neighborhood. It is very beautiful but oh the quiet! I’m sure most people love it but I like a little noise and I like to feel like I can make a little without worrying about it. For instance, whenever I come home at night, even if it’s early, I feel like I almost have to tiptoe into the building and very quietly make my way upstairs. I hardly ever see anyone outside except for the dogwalkers. I swear I’ve met more dogs than people since I’ve lived here LOL. Seems like almost everyone has at least 1 and many people have 2. I would love to have a dog but we just can’t afford to take care of one properly and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Oh well, we will see how lively it gets once summer comes.
Well this entry turned out to be about a whole lotta nothin! I’ll add a few pics to make it worthwhile 🙂
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend! ((((HUGS)))))
Look at those eyes! That is Bonnie’s oldest granddaughter Kayliah holding Leah.

Goodmorning to you my dear friend. At least it’s still morning here in California (11:30am). I had an idea for you and Debbie. Does she like to cook? Perhaps you can take turns cooking dinner for each other. That way, you can still get together and enjoy each others company without eating out. I am not doing well when it comes to my food choices either. Haven’t been for awhile now. I can so relateto how you are feeling about this. I love the photos. You are all so pretty and so happy. What a sweet little family you have. xoxo

Wonderful photos. You are one of my most fave faves, so you can take all the breaks you want and you will remain on my friend list. I am with you on keeping the kitchen clean.

Darn it!! WildRose took my idea, but I was thinking the exact same thing. What she didn’t mention was that there are many very good recipes that are low calorie out there, that I’m sure she wouldn’t notice that they were low calorie. All she’ll notice is that the dinner tasted really good. I love when you share pics of the kids, but I can’t decide which I like better: Makayla blowing bubbles OR Makayla falling asleep in the car. I also thought the pic of Leah eating her snack was just adorable.

I like your entries about “nothing”, girlie! My two youngest grandbabies love those little poofy snack things, too. The last time I had both of them at the same time, when they went home, I found a few of those things, half-eaten and soggy, sticking in my hair! LOL!
