Personal Insults

I’ve decided not to wait until after the baby shower to "get rid" of my FB.  What I’ve decided to do is to keep my family and my OD friends on FB and remove everyone else that I know IRL.

As soon as I posted that I’d be removing people (to give them a chance to get other contact info from me), people started complaining and assuming it had something to do with them.  Funny how none of them actually asked me for my other contact info, though.

I don’t really care, though.  I think it’ll be good to be rid of FB (for the most part).  My "real" friends do nothing but cause drama on FB and I’m sick of it.  They argue with each other just to argue.  They argue with me just to argue.  They draw me into arguing with them.  It’s too much stress.  If I keep my family there, they can easily be updated as to what’s going on with the baby.  And if I keep my OD friends there, I can talk to you guys outside of OD (or if OD dies).  It works for me.  If my "real" friends can’t be bothered to contact me outside of FB…well, I guess they’re not really very good friends, are they?

Finally got around to joining Pinterest, which I think will be fun and a much better way to "social network" than FB.  As I said to a friend, on Pinterest, it’s more about "things" and less about "me".  Or, it seems to be anyway.  I guess I’ll see.  If it turns out that I hate it, I can always delete my account.

So Lent is starting, I guess.  Duckie reminded me.  We’re both giving up fast food.  We get to break the "fast" without guilt if the baby is born before Easter.  There’s no way we’re going to be eating home cooked meals while I’m in the hospital (and probably not right after I get out of the hospital, either.)  Anyhow, it’ll be tough because we’re pretty bad on the weekends.  It’s so easy to grab something for lunch while we’re out doing other things.  I guess now we’ll either have to do things after lunch or we’ll have to pack a lunch and bring it with us.  It’s totally do-able.

**Edit** To clarify, the people that are bitching about me unfriending non-family and assuming that it had something to do with them are the ones that didn’t ask me for other contact info.  I didn’t mean everyone who commented.

Random noter: I did the exact same thing with FB about 2 months ago and I have never regretted it for a minute. Wise decision. I can live without the drama.

i think that’s a good idea, and yes- pinterest is much less self-centered or apt to cause drama! 😛 thanks again for the towels, and spreading the word! 🙂

I really need to invest more time in Pinterest. It seems like a really fun/useful site. And everyone else’s boards are so pretty … The baby might be born before Easter?? I feel like I just found out you were pregnant. Time is so weird sometimes.

OMG! You cant, I said CANT, delete people off your FB without a fool proof explanation! What happens if Janey from 3rd grade takes a massive crap and cant tell you?! What? E-mail? Why would I want that when I can just tell you everything on FB? Gee…. Good luck with Lent. I am giving up….er….nothing. Hope of being an astronaut.

RYN: Yeah, I was ginormous. I remember looking down at my belly towards the end and thinking “If I get any bigger, I might split open.” ::laughs:: Everyone carries differently … and it’s amazing how what you look like doesn’t necessarily give an idea of the baby’s size. I mean, Xander was a decent size for being a little early; but I have a coworker who just gave birth, she carriedjust like me (that is to say, she was HUGE), she went two weeks over her due date and was induced … we were all expecting a 10 pound monster, but her daughter was barely six pounds. Surprise!

RYN: I KNOW! I saw that damn thing seconds before I read your note. THOSE BASTARDS MADE ME A LIAR! I’m going to go hunt for a new entry to RC so I’m no longer a liar.

Speaking of which, are you going to be around Sunday?? I was thinking of a day trip up to give you the carseat and a little visit… I was going to take you guys out for dinner but… I don’t want to threaten your lenten promise.,

RYN: Awwww! How awesome! The only thing I don’t like is that they called it a therapy pet which is an animal that goes into hospitals for animal therapy. It doesn’t help just his owner like this cat and you certainly can’t sign your pet up to be a therapy animal without it going through training first. The article was very confusing. I hate how useless at fact checking Yahoo writers are.

Yea I lived off of McDonald’s and Hospital food when Carrie was in the Hospital with Thomas. But that’s not too different than normal minus the Hospital food. We really should cut out fast food as well. or at least limit it to like saturdays or something.
