There are a lot of things that I’ve been meaning to write about that I just haven’t.  I have a good one for you today, though.

We’d just gotten up this morning and were changing Lily when we heard dinosaurs running down the hall stairs.  We grumbled because people do that a lot.  The fact that it can be heard in the room furthest from the stairs is super annoying, though.  Shortly after, we heard shouting outside.  Great.  Another couple of drunks getting into it at 6:30 in the morning.  Why are they drink at 6:30am?  Who knows?

I peeked outside and saw one person laying on the ground in the grass and a couple others milling around.  I thought there’d been a fight.  One of the other guys was trying to get the hurt person up when the hurt person started screaming that his back was broken.  The guy pulled him up into a sitting position with the hurt person screaming the entire time.

I ask Brett if I should call 911 and he says no because of the people milling around was probably doing it.  Except they weren’t.  All of this screaming and yelling goes on for a while and then I see that they’re trying to figure out how to lift the hurt guy (presumably to get him back upstairs).  One of them is yelling about how he’s got a warrant out.  At that point, I call 911.  If they’re main concern is to keep warrant guy from getting arrested, I don’t trust them to call 911.  I still don’t think they did.

I get on the phone and Brett is kind of keeping an eye on the situation.  Our office manager and his wife are out there now trying to help.  It sounds like they’ve also called 911.  I tell Brett that the guy probably jumped or fell off the balcony (3rd story).  And it’s true.  He sits up on the balcony rail and smokes.  I’ve seen him do it before and told Brett that someone was going to fall off of the balcony one day.  Yep.  When he was telling the police/paramedics what happened, he said he wasn’t paying attention when he was sitting on the rail smoking and he fell.

And that was my morning.

Ryn: Thanks so much for your advice, I’m probably going to do that instead of telling them. Thanks so much! And that’s so sad, I hope he’s okay.
