Bunny Update

Well, I’m sad to say that no one called about the bunny.  I wish I had a better idea of where she might have come from because someone -clearly- loved this bunny.  She’s super well behaved.  She LOOOOOVES being petted.  So much that she’ll try to prevent you from leaving the room by hopping a circle around you or hopping between your legs.  If you sit on the futon/couch thing in the room she’s in, she’ll hop up next to you and put her head on your lap.  Or lick your arm or hands.  So. Freaking.  Sweet.

Anyway, our apartment complex does not allow bunnies, so there’s no option of keeping her ourselves.  The humane society already has like 20thousandbillion bunnies, so she’d probably end up euthanized.  We’re going to try to rehome her ourselves.  Laura has a relatively popular horse blog that she’s going to mention the bunny on to see if we have any local takers (so that if someone DOES eventually contact us, we could -theoretically- get the bunny back for them).  If Laura comes up with nothing, we’ll put an ad on Craigslist.

I kind of feel like I’ve written this before.  But I’m too lazy to go back to check.  Lily is being quiet and in her swing, so I want to take what time I have to write this entry and not go back to read old ones just to be sure I’m not repeating myself.

Duckie and I are going to switch banks.  We’re not pleased that Wells Fargo is going to start charging us $15 a month even though we have a zillion accounts with them.  I could understand like $5, but $15 for checking?  I think not.  We’re going to go with a local credit union – which has the added bonus of having cheaper safety deposit boxes (and we want a safety deposit box).  They also have a college savings plan that doesn’t have any penalties if you use the money for something other than college expenses.  If Lily doesn’t want to go to college, she won’t have to.  And then I can have my damn money back without being penalized.  Well, Lily can have back anything SHE put in there, but no college = no monies!  But really, she’s going to college.  Even if she majors in underwater basket weaving or tightrope walking.

And….that is all!

The bunny is beautiful. So sad that you can’t find her home and are not able to keep her yourself. She looks very sweet. 🙁

I hope the bunny ends up in a good home. She’s lucky that you two found her.

Hi–random noter. See if your area has a local house rabbit society group, or rabbit rescue group. The behavior, especially the circling behavior, is hormonal. This time of year is dreadful for rabbits–people get tiny bunnies for Easter, and about now, when they are 8-12 weeks, they hit puberty and are hell on wheels. So they get dumped. Spaying her will make her a better pet and longer-lived.

About 80% of unspayed female bunnies develop uterine cancer. it is a very sad thing. There is a group online called petbunny. They will have local contacts, most likely. They also have a (very inactive) facebook group. if you want to pm me with contact info, I can forward to a friend still active with the petbunny group.

I hope you find a good home for the bunny. Sounds like a super cutie.

Oh no, poor bunny! At least you’re trying to find her a good home. Ian and I switched banks MONTHS ago from Wells Fargo to a local credit union because of that stupid fee. It took us a month. Here’s a helpful article (though you probably have done your own research already) http://lifehacker.com/5857091/how-do-i-switch-from-my-bank-to-a-credit-union Good luck with things!

I have always had my money at a credit union- I’ve had the same bank account since I was in the fifth grade. I have absolutely no fees unless I use an outside atm- I think it stupid you have to pay money on your money- makes no sense to me.

Dude, there is a HUGE need for underwater basket weavers right now. You should enroll her in school now because its filling up fast. You should just keep the bunny and if management says anything tell them its not a bunny, its a dog. I wonder how long that argument would last. “Um, thats a bunny.” “Nope, its a dog.” “Not its not.” ‘Uh, yeah it is.”

That’s too bad that the apartment complex won’t let you keep the bunny. 🙁 Poor bunny. I hope you’ll be able to find it a happy home.

My bank charges nearly $14 a month for checking but that includes unlimited transactions online, debit, at the teller, at the ATM etc. I think it’s ridiculous too but it’s a really good banking institution (Bank of Montreal). I’ve tried so many different banks in Canada and they might be cheaper but they are not better. I had an account with TD (Toronto Dominion) when I was a kid. It waschecking but I used it as a place to store my allowance and money I got from doing chores for neighbours. One day I decided to close my account (I can’t recall why) and my account had $40 in it. It was labelled as a child’s first bank account (they advertise specifically to kids) but they charged me $20 to close my $40 account. Half the money I had saved went to the greedy bank. My mother was FURIOUS. I’ve tried others like CIBC, Royal and in NY I was with Key Bank (*shudders*) but nothing compares to the service and security I get with BMO. The fee sucks but it’s well worth it. I can imagine service and security with a place like Wells Fargo is far from ideal considering they were a big part of the economic crash! The local credit union sounds great!
