Wow does time fly!
Hey Everyone,
I can’t believe it has been 2 weeks since my last actual entry update. It just seems like things don’t want to slow down, which don’t get me wrong I like being busy, but there are times when I just want to sit and relax. Lets see, where did I leave off.
Feb 18th- 21st
I am just going to sum this week up because it was pretty much the same thing everyday or at least close to it. Pretty much I worked my normal hours at the firm and then Monday and Tues night at the scrapbooking store. My husband worked several of the nights but thursday we decided to go out to dinner at On the Border and see Alex. We planned out our budget a little more and on Friday we recieved our tax money. We knew a few things we were going to do with the tax money and one was to pay off a couple of the credit cards. So we were glad to recieve the money.
Sat. I didn’t go into work till later in the afternoon since we had no one to work the crop so, Karren went in early to cover my time and I went in later to stay till midnight. I took the chance of morning time to go out to the DMV and get our cars titles switched to Illinios and to get our new license plates. All in all it only took me I think an hour and a half and there were a lot of forms to fill out. After that I headed home and relaxed and played some video games before heading to work. My husband had to work all day to so again we weren’t spending time together.
Sunday:
My husband worked again but not till later, so we ran a few errands. Because we have decided to get a new tv for the living room we went and looked at tvs, well all that we are looking at are too large for our entertainment center so we also looked for new entertainment centers. We saw some we liked however I didn’t like the prices. So I continiued to look on line to see if there was anything else we could find. We then hit up Target and got some curtains for the living room, basically we have decided it is time to get the apartment looking better and finishing out the rooms and we are starting with the living room. Afterwards we came home, my husband got ready for work and I stayed home and cleaned for the most part. The weather wasn’t that great so I didn’t really want to venture out.
Monday 25th:
I had to work both jobs and then I thought of running to Walmart to get a few items like a curtain rod, but the weather turned nasty real quick so I decided to wait. Instead I went home and spent some time with my husband.
Tues.
After I finished work we headed to Meijer and bought a curtain rod and a new lamp. It wil look nice when we get it up, I just haven’t had time without it being to late to mess with it and not make noise.
Wed.
The first night that I was going to be home before 9 pm and my husband wasnt working so we headed out to get an entertainment center. We went to IKEA and found one there that was great, we also bought some storage/wicker crates to put items in so it looks cleaner. Then after that we ran around to a few stores looking for slip covers for the couch and chair. Currently neither match and so we wanted to make them more uniform. We ended up at Target and got one slipcover for the couch. They didn’t have any for our style chair, so we are still looking around for that. Though we did look at Penny’s and ended up getting 2 nice red dining room chair slip covers for the dinning room, and they only costed 6 dollars total for both, it was a great deal and now our chairs look much better. After that we headed home and decided it was too late to put anything together so we decided just to put the slip covers on and called it a night.
Thurs.
After work I headed to Trader Joes got some grocery items and then headed home. My husband and I then made a quick run to Best Buy to get a wireless router, which is another item we were adding in because we are tired of all the wires around our place. After that we headed back to the apartment where I started assembling the entertainment center and my husband worked on getting the old one put in the second bedroom and organizing it. By 9:30 I was done building the new entertainment center so it was time for my husband to get the wires and everything organized. We will be getting the tv sometime this week so currently our old larger one stays out in the living area.
Friday:
My husband took me to work because we were headed out of town for the weekend and it is much easier to leave from my place of work then for me to drive home and us to leave from there. My husband did a few errands, got us packed and headed back here to fet me at 3, I left early so we could get into town earlier and avoid so much traffic. Well, while he was on his way here he was talking to his mother and all of a sudden she couldn’t form words and then started crying saying she needed help. My husband walked her through her getting off the phone and calling Carl whom was in the basement, which in her condition of speech would not hear her if she tried to scream. We found out later that she had a mild stroke, and she wasn’t admitted into the hospital, but still had a few tests done and will go back to see the docs in a few days. We then my work at about 2:45ish and headed to Elkhart. It was a 2 hr drive, but uneventful, which is always good. We then headed straight for my parents house to unload the car and th call Jacob. Jacob and Kelsey then met us at Red Lobster for dinner. After dinner we headed over to see Keith over at his parents house. It was nice to get to see him again, sad to know that I probably won’t see him again till his wedding in Oct. Just before 11pm Lindsey and Troy arrived. I was so happy to see my best friend again. We all stayed till about midnight when we were finally kicked out so Keith could go to bed to get up early to drive to Indy. We all gave hugs and parted ways. I love getting to see my friends, but it is never enough time. My husband and I then met up with my mother over at the Moose Lodge and were there for about 20 mins, before it was getting ready to close down so we headed out to Union, MI for a night cap at the bar that my Aunt Moe works at. The drinks ended up being on her, which was really nice. My husband then dropped me off at my car and then drove my mother home. We got home just after 2 am in the morning.
Sat.
I woke up at 9 am to get around and head out to Menards with my father. My husband got up later and headed out for some breakfast at the Daily Grind and then visited his mother. My father and I were at Menards for about an hour and a half deciding what wood would be best used and for the best price for the book shelves. By the end we walked out with $63 worth of the wood planks. We then headed to the house to get to work. We had to make the initial cuts up in the living room because my dad just has no way to get a 10′ board down the stairs. After getting those cuts done we headed to the basement where most of the saws and other tools were. We decided what the feet of the book cases were going to be like and cut those out of all the sides. Then we determined how we were going to actually put things together so we knew what other cuts to make. I then had to take a break and leave around 3 pm to go and see my sister in law
and my neices. It was nice getting to visit, and despite my husband giving the youngest all of her favorites she still wouldn’t go to him for more then a thank you hug. 🙂 She is such a cutey, and she sat with me on the chair for a good half hour. Around 4:30 we left to get back to my parents to get around for church. We got to church and of course Father Jeff got us out within 45 mins. We then headed over to Marci’s for dinner. The waitress sucked. She was slow, took forever to come check on us, someone else had to get me a refill on my drink, it was definately not the best service I have ever had there. My Aunt Moe then caught up with us at Marci’s and we all headed to the smoker. My mother went with my Aunt Moe, my husband and I went with my father. The 3 of us made a quick stop at Menards to get the shelf bracketing. So we walked out with 3 packs of brackets, and 4 bracket strips for $15 dollars. We then headed to the smoker, which was a lot of fun. Mostly people were either playing Blackjack or they were socializing. My husband sat and -played blackjack for most of the night, which in the end I think we lost 20 dollars, but all in good fun, it was going to a charity. My parents bought tabs for several items and finally ended up winning a bottle of Patron Tequila, a bottle of Southern Comfort and a Southern Comfort shaker. I through out the night ended up with 5 whiskey and cokes, the most I have drank in a while. We got home around midnight. My husband and I then had some great sex!!
Sunday
We slept in a little seeing as we went to church the night before. Finally we got up and my mother made breakfast for everyone, biscuits and gravy. Shortly after my husband started to make a german chocolate cake that my mother asked if he would make her and my father and I headed to the basement to work on the bookcases. After my husband was done making the cake, Jacob came and got him to go over to his house and play video games, one of which was Guitar Hero III. Around 5 pm my husband returned and my mother made a homemade dinner, cube steak, homemade mashed potatoes and salad. My father and I got lots done on the bookcases. All the sides are cut and grooved for the brackets and shelves, the tops and bottoms are cut and grooved to be put in place and the shelves themself are one cut away from being ready. My father has been given permission to only sand while I am away, though I know that he will do more then that. I am sure that he will have the sides, top and bottom assembled, back panels bought and placed on as well, and possibly the bracket strips in place. Which will leave us with finalizing the last cuts on the shelves, staining everything, finish putting everything together and putting on the crown moulding. I loved getting to work on this project with my father, because I started with something very basic and he found ways to make them look great without really adding much cost or too much time. We are a great team. After dinner we just relaxed for a little while and then decided to head out to hopefully get back to Woodridge by 9-9:30, which we did. Then we headed to Meijer and ended up buying Guitar Hero III, which my husband said for now he would take this as a gift instead of the Playstation 3, which is 4 times the cost. We then headed home, unloaded and played a little bit of the game.
Monday
Back to normal routines for the most part. I headed to both jobs and then headed home afterwards. My husband was already playing Guitar Hero III so later in the night I decided to join in. It is pretty fun and relatively easy, well on the easy mode, for someone who has music experiance.
Today:
I again work at both places and then will head home late, though I am sure that it is Scrapaholics tonight which means not getting home till 10pm, all well. I will probably then play some more of the video game, right now we are waiting for a second guitar to come in the mail since we couldn’t find anyone to have one for the 360. I can’t wait for my evening off tomorrow. I am sure I will play more games, but I plan to also head to Home Depot and get the stain for the bookcases, crown moulding for the bookcases, some primer for the living room to touch up where my husband got paint on the ceiling and base and get some more of the red paint for the living room to touch up any holes or marks that have come about since we painted. I am loving this decorating thing, it really gets me to feel like we are creating a home, even though it is only an apartment, I know that this will all transfer when we have a house, well all but the paint, though I am sure we will keep the color.
Hope everyone is having a great day!! I will have some pics of my neices soon, I just have to upload them. I have been trying to at least give a small note if I stop in and read, but it doesn’t always happen, so I hope to catch up on those I haven’t noted soon. Have a great and fun filled day!!
