tooo tired.
I am sooo tired still.
This daylight savings is STILL kicking my ass. I don’t remember it effecting me so badly before.
Coffee is no match for it. And I need to make a second round halfway through the day – without it I get headaches now.
Thanks, daylight savings!
Seriously – I have been sooo tired in the mornings that I do absolutely freaking nothing. I don’t even feel like I have the energy to SCRAPBOOK, what does that tell you? Sure, the stress lately is probably making me MORE tired…but this is ridiculous.
So tonight is the big new moon at midnight craziness. Oye. This is going to be ridiculous. I hope Gabby doesn’t have any ideas of actually standing in line in the cold any time before 11:59. I straight up refuse. If we miss out, we’ll drive around tomorrow searching for it. I’d much rather do that. Tomorrow we’re going to have a Twilight marathon viewing, which I need to make snacks for. I also need to grocery shop. Yet here I sit. SO TIRED!!!
Timmy Ho’s, I’ve got beef. How many rims do I have to roll before you throw me a bone? Not even a free coffee or something? Seriously.
So tomorrow is Spring. It’s definitely felt like it, lately. However….there’s freaking SNOW in the forecast for Monday. I’m going to protest. That’s just not right. Today, however, is going to be gorgeously sunny & 60. Thaaaank goodness! I’ll be taking Luke for a walk at some point. We took him for a really long one yesterday, and my sister took him for one while she watched him during our inspection yesterday. He just LOVES being outside. I love our new yard for that!!
Inspection negotiations went really well. Everything was so great that we only asked for 2 things (the window in one of the sheds to be replaced – it was just straight up broken out and missing, and some space around the hot water tank pipe or something?). Their agent warned them that since we have an FHA loan our bank is going to demand certain things. This is all new to us, but whatever. NY and their real estate = super gay. We could buy a brand new car with the amount of money we’re bringing to closing, seriously. ANYWAY, their agent warned them that the bank is going to require them to add a railing to their front steps & the back ones leading from the kitchen. This would come up later when the bank does their appraisal, but it would be the sellers responsibility at that time so their agent suggested they get it out of the way now while they already have a handy man coming to do work. So they volunteered that repair also – pretty sweet.
Lots of faxing is happening this morning, and then we do nothing but collect paper work & wait. Matt is going to get in touch with the loan officer to clarify exactly what he needs to give them so he can collect it this weekend & I can get it all to them. We are pretty sure (based on our reading) that they only need a few things like, copies of our SS cards, W-2s for the past 2 years, Matt’s most recent pay stub, and bank account statements showing their balances. Kind of a PITA, but nothing unreasonable or crazy. Once they have all those things….we sit back and wait.
We know for a fact that BOA can process a loan in 30 days – we’ve done it. So we could push them and have their crap done by mid-April. But I guess the hold up is all the permits and crap that NY requires – they take longer to process here. You’d think with all the money they make us pay them they’d pick up the pace. Seriously……the closing costs make me want to puke. Disgusting. NY, you know I love you – but your economy blows ass. Our estimates for closing costs right now, are FOUR TIMES the amount we paid on our house in Charlotte. And it actually might end up being as much as FIVE times. PUKE.
And you know what else? We are paying $12,000 LESS for this house than we paid in Charlotte, but our yearly taxes are TRIPLE what they were down there. Meaning our mortgage payment for a cheaper house is MORE than it was there. So freaking backwards.
It does make me sick (I’m still not quite over the shock of the FREAKING TAXES – no wonder everyone in WNY whines about them constantly), but you know what? I’m paying for the price of living near my family and friends, and sending Luke to some of theeeee best schools in the area. His elementary school is #25 in WNY (which doesn’t sound that great, but it’s mostly because there are more elementary schools than any other level), his middle school is #2 in WNY and his high school is #3 in WNY. Not to mention, his high school has the BEST hockey program in WNY. Which could definitely change in the 13 years it will take before he makes it to high school lol.
Anyway….
I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of the mail man. Remember me complaining about my orders from Custom Crops? Well I got my first order on….hmm, Wednesday? So 15 days after I ordered it. Ridiculous. Today order #2 is set to arrive (with the exception of 1 thing that ended up being back ordered) making it 16 days after I ordered it. I don’t know why they suck so terribly at their shipping.
About the decor I can’t get off my mind lately? I’m so freaking confused. After seeing that they wallpapered the freaking cabinets, I almost want to leave the wallpaper up until we re-do the kitchen. I just have this fear of the cabinets being ruined where the wallpaper was and then having to live with shitty looking cabinets until we have the money to fix up the kitchen. I don’t know!! I also realized that the living room & dining room aren’t the same color, like I originally thought. The living room is more yellow & the dining room is like a beige. The living room is definitely going brown – that room, and the master are the only two I’m totally decided on. No idea about the rest.
And this bathroom?
My two themes I’d brainstormed were either Grey & Purple, or Pink & Brown. Not so sure either will work in there after seeing it again. The tile is a lot more beige-tan than I remembered, and the floor is a lot more blue than I remembered. Matt thinks I should paint the walks a smokey blue like our old accent wall in the guest bedroom of our Charlotte house. It would definitely match everything. It’s just that….it would be a total man bathroom and I envisioned this one being "mine" and the public one being "Matt’s". Maybe not, though.
See, in this one I COULD do grey & purple. The counter top (and window sill) would work great. I would DEFINITELY paint the cabinets & replace the hardware, though. The hardware is no big deal, but I’m not sure about the cabinets. I hear it’s not that bad, but it still scares me – being something I’ve never tackled before. I think I’d want to put a new peel & stick floor down, too. Really….that’s all we could afford right now and we did it in our old master with good results, so maybe I’ll do that, too.
We are trying to put our laundry list of things to do b
efore moving in together so we don’t have to bother with them later. At least in the bathroom it’s not like there’s anything to move in or out if we decide to do this work later, but I might want to get it done while everything else is going on, anyway. I’ll definitely include this room in our painting party projects – best to do that before replacing the floor, anyway. (I just ran this plan by Matt and he thinks we should do tile instead. I’m totally down, I was just trying to think cheap, but hey if he’s willing! Now I’m thinking with the grey surfaces and maybe a nice slate-colored tile and then black cabinets, I need to do a brighter color to balance them out and make it all look really striking. Maybe I WILL do my pretty tiffany blue in there. I think that sounds kind of gorgeous!)
I don’t know why I’m at such a loss for colors in the rest of the rooms. I mean the bedrooms, who cares, I’ll figure those out eventually (I haven’t even really thought about them yet other than the master). But the main rooms are really throwing me for a loop. Matt thinks he’s going with light grey for the rec room. I guess the next big decision is if we are leaving the kitchen alone for the time being or not. And what color the dining room will be. And if we’ll expand color into the mud room, and which room’s color that will be if so.
Sorry I keep repeating myself over all that!! It helps, though….typing it out, plotting out ideas. Thanks for your continuous input 🙂
