rain rain, go away
- We went for a quick family walk this morning. There’s a Rite Aid 3 blocks from the house so Matt, Luke & I bundled up and walked there. The sun & warmth from earlier this week are gone for the weekend (doesn’t it always work like that?!) so it was pretty cold, but it was still nice getting out for a while.
- This is kind of a lazy day – not much going on. Just playing at home with the baby and a little bit of laundry. I’m feeling really tired today – it’s baffling me how the weather has been effecting my mood, lately!
- We’re going to have some fun tonight, though! My sister’s 24th birthday is tomorrow, so to celebrate Matt & I are going out with her and her fiance Tom, Tom’s sisters (and their’ SOs) and two other couples my sister is friends with. We’re going to PIzza Plant for dinner and then bowling in Tonawanda, after. I’m not accustomed to late nights and since I’m already tired today – it should be interesting! I’m still expecting to have a lot of fun!!
- Tomorrow morning we’re going to look at houses, again. There are four in East Amherst & Getzville that our realtor is taking us to. Afterwards we’re going to see the Pendleton house (with the way-too-cute kitchen pictured a few entries back) on our own. They have an open house. We’d originally wrote this house off as being too far away from everyone, but it’s actually where my mom plans to move after her settlement is complete. She seems to think that it’s in an area that our family wouldn’t mind driving to – which is kind of what I feared about it. So we will see!
- I’m really frustrated with customcrops.com right now. They have GREAT deals, I’ll never dispute that…but their shipping is really kind of terrible. They keep a banner updated on their site about how many days they are shipping orders in, and right now it says 4-6 business days. I placed one order on March 2nd (a cricut cartridge) and one order on March 3rd (a bunch of stamps, a cropper, a few other little things), and neither order has even shipped yet. My first order is on business day #8 and my second is on #7. Both of them are overdue! I expected to AT LEAST have my things by this weekend for some projects (thinking even THAT was way over-estimating the time it would take to have them in my hands). The first one is now processing as of today, but that means it probably won’t ship until Monday and who knows about the second order. REALLY frustrating!
- I may actually be crazy enough to stand in line for the New Moon Blu Ray next Saturday. I wasn’t planning to at all – I expected to just try a few stores on Sunday to see if any were left, and if not waiting a week or so for them to be re-stocked (knowing that probably wouldn’t be the case, anyway – I find that most places prepare well for this kind of thing). However, my step-sister (who is 14) called me yesterday and asked if she could sleep over Saturday night and set an alarm to get up and stand in line at Walmart to buy them at midnight. I thought about suggesting we wait til Sunday & I’d promise to take her, but I thought about how I felt at 14 and how awesome it would have been to have a much older sister who could do something like this for me, and I thought it would be a fun memory for us to have. That’s why we moved back here! And it’s not pathetic at all that I bond with my 14 year old sister over Twilight, right? 🙂
- My In-laws are back from their first round of spring vacationing. Well, they will be tonight. We are dropping one of their cars off at the airport before going out for Mal’s birthday. They will be here until Thursday, meaning I have no car this week, boo! I know I shouldn’t complain – it has been SO nice! And, as I mentioned, they leave again on Thursday for 4 WEEKS! So I’ll have a car even longer this time. We are considering having them watch Luke while we house hunt, tomorrow. I feel mostly okay with this considering it will be in the morning, before drinking time starts. And it means I don’t have to witness their mushy love fest over missing him lol.
- Well, we are pretty bored with this day, so we’re thinking about taking a ride around Pendleton for fun. Matt is really unfamiliar with Niagara county and really has no idea what to expect out there. This particular area is pretty close to Lockport (where I lived once as a kid, and many places are great but I’d never want to live there – particularly because of the schools – this house is in the Starpoint district, which we don’t mind). It’s actually kind of exciting to me – the idea of living out NEAR there again. One of the happier times in my childhood were when things were GOOD with my dad’s second marriage and we did things as a family in that area. We’d go to the drive-in or putt-putt or Tasty Treat or the Lockport Mall. It would be fun to live near these things and take Luke to them as he grows up. Matt just said, "I just realized if we get the Pendleton house I can hit golf balls in the backyard! Sold!" lol. Very true! It’s on a 1.8 acre lot! Grabbing some Timmy Ho’s and taking a quiet drive sounds like fun on this boring rainy day!
Have a great weekend!
