I know I’m missing a lot….and there are many instances where he will say something, and never say it again. But, this covers most of what he says or signs daily. I usually pick a good wake up or going to bed time (when he gets up in the morning, or after he naps, or before bed) when he’s in a good, calm mood and we go over body parts. When he seems like he’s mastered everything I ask him, I add another and he learns it in a day or two. I love this age!! It’s so easy to teach now – and he is EAGER to learn! It’s so much fun….I wish I could pause him as he is right now.
I’ve been in ultra-braggy mode over him lately (yes, even despite molar hell!!) and mostly to people who already know what I’m saying (like Matt, or my Mom), but I am just so in awe of what he’s capable of now and how quickly he picks things up. Like the blowing his nose thing? I never taught him that. He just learned from observing. And – he uses it to pretend that’s why he pulled all the tissues out of the box and I’ve caught him lol.
In addition to his quick learning, he just becomes sweeter everyday. He loves life so much – smiling and squealing over the tiniest things. He gives hugs, and pats on the back, and sloppy kisses every time you look at him practically. If he sees you cry (like I did the other day over the possibility of having to work, and my mom pretended to yesterday) he is torn between crying with you, and distracting you so you stop crying. He gets so concerned and wants to help. And seriously, he’s like St. Francis over here. He constantly sneaks the dogs food (with a sly little look knowing he’ll be told no if he gets caught but wants to give them some of his food so badly). He is constantly trying to win the cats over, no matter how many times they swat at him or we tell him to be careful. He just loves the animals. He’s such a sweet, happy, silly, crazy guy – and I couldn’t love him more!
