I’m all alone and I need you now
- Saaaid I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I neeeed you now. I’ve all but "gotten over" country, but that song just does something for me. I think it’s because it’s so close to pop. Those are the only things I can tolerate lately – I don’t have a taste for the twangy rednecky songs at all anymore.
- I’m watching Twilight for the 700th time, simply because it’s on HBO yet again and I’m letting Edward fill my Matt void.
- Luke & I dropped Matt of at the airport this morning and he left for Charlotte. Lord knows we owe his job a lot, but I’m sad about him being gone this week. It’s kind of silly, considering we’ve spent much longer amounts of time apart – four days is nothing in comparison. But I don’t know how to sleep without him anymore. And hearing his heartbreak over being away from Luke breaks mine a little, too.
- It was a cold, rainy, gloomy day today. I took Luke to Target for something to do. I FINALLY bought a flat iron for my hair, a few decor shelves, and Easter things for Luke. I tried to find dress shoes for Luke (for Easter) and a spring jacket, but they were out of both. I even asked someone and they said they just had a bunch yesterday and now they were gone!
- When we were done at Target, we stopped at Timmy Ho’s. I usually call my mom when I do this because one of the two Tim’s we frequent is around the block from her office. So I called her to see if she wanted coffee, and she asked me to bring Luke in to do a little Grandma bragging. He made the ladies swoon, as usual š
- Matt was busy at work all day so we didn’t get to talk until this evening. He told me to call him when Luke was going to bed, and over the speaker phone he told Luke goodnight and said I love you, and when he did that….Luke leaned in and kissed my phone. OMG, I had tears. Serious tears. He loves his Daddy. It’s killing ME that they have to be apart.
- Earlier today I drew a little sign and had Luke pose with it for pictures. I sent them to Matt in an email thinking he’d be surprised by them when he finally made it back to his hotel room (which I don’t think he has yet). When we talked at Luke’s bedtime I asked him if he happened to get an email from Luke, and much to my surprise, he said yes. When he saw he had an email from Luke on his blackberry, he opened it right away & saved the pictures to his phone. He said, "I’ve been showing them to everyone all evening – I’m totally that guy now."
- I’m planning on taking similar pictures each day Matt’s gone, as long as Luke cooperates. We’ll see š
- I’m recording Dancing With The Stars and I’m putting off watching it because I think I’ll need it to fall asleep to later. Ugh. Yes, I’m that used to sleeping next to Matt. When he used to play hockey I wouldn’t sleep til he got home. I couldn’t help it…so I have a feeling the same will be true for tonight.
- I started reading the first of the Sookie Stackhouse books last night. I got 60 pages in before I decided I hated it. To give the book a fair shot (or, I cheated, however you want to look at it) I skipped ahead a few times to see if there was anything interesting coming up or if the whole thing would be that ridiculous. I ended up reading a trashy scene where the main characters bite each other & drink their blood while they’re having sex – both of them have their own fetishy reasons for doing so. I seriously LOLed at that, so I put the book down and I don’t intend to pick any of them up ever again. Thumbs, down.
- I really have no reason to stay up tonight….I could scrapbook, but I’m not in the mood crazily enough. I think I’ll go lay in bed and watch some DWTS and see what happens. Night!
