hairstyles & stuff

would this look good on me?

or maybe this?

i want a bob.

like…. a cute, classy, not-too-short-not-too-long, bob. and i think my mind went right to these two because they share my fair-skin-dark-hair-dark-eyes weirdness. i mean really, how did our hair & eyes get SO much color and our skin none? (well, i think ashley got a touch more.)

you know, the doctor who saw luke at urgent care last week asked me if i was irish. i was like um…..no? and he goes, "well you have so many freckles!". and i was like no…..just, polish, lithuanian & italian. he "hmmfed" and walked out and i was a little confused. did he want me to be irish? and seriously, what the heck, face? instead of just having color, like normal people, you randomly freckled color in little brown splotches? same goes for you, elbows and knees. what gives?

i’m hunting down a hairstyle because i have an appt at 9am tomorrow. it was supposed to be today but, it fell through. so the morning will be a rush tomorrow (oh joy). my main goal is to get rid of split ends and add a little life back to my hair. i just had it cut less than 3 months ago…which technically is "normal" but i usually went like 6 months – a year between cuts. however, this northern winter it’s experiencing for the first time in 5 years is……destroying it. it sucks. so the life leaked out a lot faster than usual.

i want something slightly shorter. not short-short. just, shorter than it is. i want something that feels a little…..lighter. and i also want something that won’t take too long to grow back in so that by the time mal’s wedding rolls around i’ve got enough for an updo. well, maybe. if i like this enough i’m thinking i’ll keep it at this length and go for the half-up-do.

so hmm, which one?

they are extremely similar. ashley has a hint of fake swoopy bangs, which i’ve always secretly wanted but was both too chicken to do and very intimidated by because i have a gross disgusting cow-lick thing going on that i inherited from my dad – so my hair in front, when fashioned into bangs, does it’s own wild flippy business and i’d probably have heated arguments with it every morning. both of them seem to have found cheater alternatives to the swoopy bangs which i think draws me to them in a "hey, i could possibly do that" way. they also both have more extreme side parts than i usually go for, so that will probably take some experimenting. the biggest difference here is length. should i hover JUUUST over the shoulders like anne? or gracefully hang just below the chin like ashley?

DECISIONS!!! Help!

i’m at matt’s mom’s today. OH MY ORDEAL. i almost backed out, but then matt clued me into the hyping-up he did to his mom. she made sure she didn’t work today so she could be here. originally i was supposed to be "getting ready for the party", but there’s nothing to do. and she doesn’t exactly have the type of house that you string streamers in. i think i might pick up some balloons from the dollar store after our hair cut & before we pick up the food tomorrow….but, that’s about it. it felt totally pointless to come today since i’d be away from my craft stuff…..but matt said he wanted us here and i thought, this is what we moved back to buffalo for. and here i am.

oh right, the ordeal part. i had to pack up EVERYTHING in like record time. clothes for me, clothes for luke, everything i needed to shower, diapers & wipes, pacifiers, toys for luke, every single solitary meal, snack & bottle for luke. it freaking sucks spending a whole day out of the house without the convenience of access to everything you need. and then the drive here? sloooooooow as molasses going up hill in january. lotsa snow.

i made luke mini pancakes and fruit for breakfast. he ate dry cheerios and 6oz of milk on our ride here, and even so….he ate about 1/4 cup cut up grapes, 1/4 cup of cantaloupe, and 3 mini pancakes. inhaled all of it. my crazy bottomless pit!

i’m bored. i hate being stuck here.

I say Anne’s. While I do like the look of Ashley’s, I think Anne’s is more practical for you. I know when I had short hair it was more work than longer hair. Also, not being able to put it up in a ponytail, if even a cute short little stubby one, DROVE ME NUTS! I think Ashley’s would be a lot of work and you would have to style it every.freaking.day. While Anne’s could be worn more casually or classy, depending on the mood.

i say go for ashley! it will be annes length pretty quick so you almost get both 🙂 i totally wish i was getting my hair done tomorrow. i need a haircut. my last one was octoberrr. bad.

I vote the second hairstyle!!
