four days, whoo!!!

Day 20 :: A hobbie of yours

hmmmmmmmm isn’t it, hobby? anywayy…funny this is the next question after what i said yesterday. scrapbooking, reading, blogging, crafting in general, cooking…that’s the majority of it, anyway!

Day 21 :: A recipe

Hmm, any requests? I can’t decide. I could do…my turkey corn chili, turkey sloppy joes, hamburger soup, chicken stir fry…or maybe something more desserty? I have a bunch!
 

little man’s napping. surprise! it’s the only time i can write, though, so….duh.

matt has the day off today. he had 5 vaca days to spend before the year is over (or he’d lose them).
he took 4 off next week (he already had one off for new years so he will have the whole week off), and decided to use the 5th today, rather than christmas eve. for a few reasons. christmas eve should be an "easy" day…he should be let out early and no one will be there to bug him. and because, he likes to have a day to himself close to christmas when he can shop, wrap presents, and do his best to get in the mood. he did this last year and it was like an instant christmas mood enhancer for him.

i wanted to go with him, but apparently he’s shopping for me. he keeps saying that he didn’t get me anything good, which makes me want to smack him. i got him the lamest stuff this year since there wasn’t a lot of money to go around (seriously, he’s getting like shirts and socks and ONE thing he wanted which was HDMI cables for his xbox but that’s still lame as hell, like he’ll ever see them once they’re plugged in?). and he already got me THREE cricut cartridges, which is HUGE! that’s a lot of money, even on sale! and i know he got me some books because mal asked him which ones he already got so she knew which ones NOT to get me. that right there sounds like PLENTY…maybe even more than plenty. i’m more concerned with luke this year, and i already know i’ll be set with the cricut so anything else is just overboard to me. i just hope he’s only getting stocking stuffers or something because i’ll feel bad otherwise.

he said he’d be home by lunch so that luke & i could go back out with him. i only have one thing i have to get (mal and i decided to split the last two people i had to shop for and she took care of one of them this weekend so i just have to do the other today). and, we’re going to take luke to see santa!

my goal today, other than doing those things, is to catch up on laundry (or as close to it as i can get. it’s hard when i’m the only one with luke because my parents’ washer & dryer are in the basement and the only dog-hair-free place to fold is my bed two floors above it…but if matt can help me out with that today i should be able to get it done). i also want to wrap the last of the presents (there are 8 left + whatever i buy today), and straighten up my room & luke’s room. if i have those things done it will be such a weight off my shoulders! the next two days are going to be a cleaning fest so i really need to be in a good place after today.

i frosted the cut-outs yesterday – there were 5 dozen. it took forever since it was just me doing it all. i got pretty lazy at the end lol. however, i made a whole bunch of stocking cut-outs, and when i frosted them i made one for each kid who will be at the christmas eve party. i wrote their names on the top of the stockings with red icing….they’re super cute!

i’m waiting for luke to fall asleep before i shower and he’s still in there playing with his gloworm.

you know what sucks? it’s snowing right now….like, really pretty, big flakes, but not coming down so hard that it makes driving hard to do. it just looks really nice. but for the next couple days we’re not supposed to get anything….and on christmas it’s supposed to RAIN. RAIN! On Christmas! sucks. bad timing, mother nature. way to suck.

blaah i still have to waste time before luke falls asleep. maybe i’ll go update the family blog.

matt said he was going to be home before lunch. hmmm, it’s 1:05. it’s okay though, luke’s first nap was about 45 minutes long….not enough time for me to get ready, and certainly not enough rest for him to go out in public! he called just a little bit ago and said he had two stops left to make, but they were in opposite directions and wasn’t sure which, if any, to do.

one of the stops is for my mom, tim & tom and it’s close by to my parents so he can do it on his way home from work tomorrow. he said the other is by the galleria and is for me. i have no idea what store is out by the galleria that he can’t find somewhere else? he also said it was going to take him a couple hours. sooo i have no idea what he’s doing out there. now the plan is for him to be home by 3 so i’m trying to nap luke again. he’s still playing in there, though…..i feel like i’m never going to fit my shower in today! and how is it already 1pm???
