Bullety Thurrrsday
- I feel like I never had my coffee. I did. But I’m totally exhausted.
- We went to Matt’s Mom’s for breakfast. They are leaving for round two of their Spring vaca, so we brought Luke to say goodbye. I drove us home afterwards leaving Matt there to work so he could take one of their cars when he leaves. YAY I have a car for 4 weeks!
- I’m supposed to be showering but I’m purposely procrastinating. I’m unreasonably nervous about our inspection today so the suspense is killing me. I feel like if I put it off a little, 1:00 will get here sooner.
- So Friday night for New Moon. That’s what I thought, but Gab had me questioning myself. She was SO SURE it was Saturday night. Thanks for clearing that up 🙂 I talked to her yesterday to tell her it actually WAS Friday and after chatting for a bit she said "I can’t wait to watch it right away!". I really hope she doesn’t think we’re coming home at 1am and watching it. I told her we’d make snacks and have a little marathon watching Twilight & New Moon back to back during the day Saturday. She seemed excited about that, so hopefully she gets over the 1am thing. It’s funny….we are both really excited and totally into the Twilight series, but her absolute OBSESSION is kind of over the top. Like, ridiculously. Seeing the way she regards the books & movies gives me a true glimpse of the teenybopper craziness. I had my young obsessions, too – but I was neverrrr quite like that. The Twilight series does something crazy to these girls.
- Maybe this makes me sound like an old boring lady, but that point kind of scares me. The way they buy into the relationships in these books (at least in the way I see Gabby understanding them) is really sort of disturbing. I hope they aren’t expecting that. Otherwise we’re gearing up for a generation of let-down depressed women lol. I think as an adult reading about a time I went through, and just – twisted into something a little more dreamy and ideal – I can appreciate everything as a story to get lost in temporarily. These girls haven’t gone through anything like that yet. I’m a little bit scared of what that means for them.
- I really didn’t mean to end up with all these teenage bullets, ha…but here’s another. I’m not saying this to be mean or anything – more like a little, concerned, I guess? Gabby has noooo pride in how she looks whatsover. I completely forgot how LAZY teenagers are. Why is that? She will occasionally put make up on, and it actually looks cute when she does it! But she RARELY does her hair – and she doesn’t shower every day. Not even every other day sometimes. (And okay to be fair I can’t always find time in my days for a shower with a baby, but I don’t have to leave the house! She goes to school like that!!) She never blow drys her hair so it’s always frizzy and it always looks like she hasn’t brushed it in a week. When I make a comment to her (and I try really hard not to be mean or demeaning in anyway – in fact I’m trying to do the opposite because she goes to HIGH SCHOOL in September and I don’t want her getting stomped on by THOSE bitches), she kind of smirks at me and says "I know". So she knows she looks like crap….but she’s too lazy to do anything about it. I think all girls have their tomboy phase – I sure as hell did. But I got over that by the time I was 11…maybe 12. She’s 14! By the time I was 14 I was dressing up and trying to look as girly as humanly possible. I’m not even saying she has to be GIRLY, but goodness – comb your hair! Wear more than the same 2 shirts back to back! Don’t shove a whole piece of pie down your throat after eating a huge lunch and then complain about having a belly! Damn, I don’t know how I would handle a teenage girl….maybe it’s best Matt’s family seems to carry only boy sperm lol.
- Sorry, unnecessary rant. I think I just get more aggravated over the fact that her mom doesn’t tell her or show her these things. She doesn’t have to be perfect and there IS something to be said about innocence, but she’s coming up on her High School years and High School girls are straight up BITCHES. If she doesn’t help her out now, she’s going to haaaaate her life in High School.
- So, I’m totally pumped to take all kinds of pictures of the house today so I can make some more decorating decisions. I’ll post them later so you guys can help me 🙂 They might not be up right away because Matt took the rest of the day off after the inspection so we’ll probably be spending some quality time. Whoo hoooo!
- Did I mention my house is really small? Oye. It’s so interesting – there are so many houses that we refused to settle on because it was missing this or that, and then we find one with an immaculate yard and a big enough basement for our pool table in our #1 school district and suddenly nothing else matters lol. I mean seriously. Did you SEE the kitchen?? And no lie – we may not be able to fit our bedroom set into our bedroom. Seriously. The overall FEEL of this house is perfect, so that mixed with the essential selling points I just listed is what made us go after it. But the size, realistically, is just……tiny. I mean if we had no more kids, it would be perfect. After one more it will be sufficient. Anything after that, will be insanely difficult. It’s going to be interesting.
- And did you SEE the kitchen? OMGGG the kitchen. lol.
- It’s going to be an absolutely beautiful day today, which is awesoooome. That means I won’t freeze my booty off during the outdoor portions of the inspection, and it will be so wonderful having Matt off for the afternoon. We can go for a walk or something. I’m really happy to have today with him because we have so much going on this weekend (New Moon, he’s golfing & brewing), and then he’s gone all next week. 🙁 Oh right, about that…
- One of the stipulations of Matt moving his job with us to Buffalo was that he be available for trips back to Charlotte during essential times. This is the first occurrence. Everything is paid, obviously, so it’s not a financial burden….just, a boring one for me. He’s actually only gone Mon morning – Friday morning, and probably won’t work the rest of next Friday so we won’t miss any weekend time (which is when we have most of our time together). But I’ll be bored. I look forward to him coming home every night. I’ll miss that. And he is absolutely heartbroken about being away from Luke that long. He says it like every 10 minutes lol. Ugh. Sucks. I’m gonna need to keep busy next week – good thing I have a car!! 🙂
- I need to go clear off some space on my memory card and charge up my battery to be sure I have plenty of room for pictures! I really hope the owners aren’t there. They are nice people, but it’s just…awkward. I don’t like that about real estate up here. In Charlotte, owners & sellers weren’t allowed to communicate directly or meet face-to-face for legal reasons. I liked it just because of the comfort level. Up here they follow you around and tell you all the reasons they love their house and why it’s great and blah blah. And I reall
y hope they aren’t chillin’ in there while I’m trying to take pictures. That would suck.
