<3 Spring
- Luke & I FINALLY assembled his wagon on Wednesday. My sister had originally ordered it as a Christmas gift, but decided to hang onto it until his birthday since a) it was mid-winter and couldn’t be used anyway and b) he wouldn’t have known the difference since even a few mere months ago something like that wouldn’t excite him the way it surely does now! It’s been sitting in the dining room ever since his birthday party (in january!!) and everytime we think of moving it we always end up saying, meh, we’re gonna open it any day now that spring is here! So, I finally did it Wednesday. Luke tried to "help" me the entire time – which made what should have been a 15 minute project more like a 1/2 hour, but it was worth it! He had a great time spinning the wheels around and LOVED the ride around the block in it. He smiled & squealed every time we went over a bump.
- Yesterday the forecast was 69, but it was definitely warmer than that! Weather.com said it reached 75, but my car and matt’s blackberry weather app said it reached 78. Either way, it was GORGEOUS! There were points when the sun was hitting my back that it was almost TOO warm to take!
- Luke & I went to my Grandparents house for most of the afternoon. We left after lunch and stayed there until after 3pm. Luke had a great time. My Grandpa always feeds him (well, he feeds everyone!) and if you know my boy at all – he is the cliche man, you can win his love through his stomach! My grandpa also filled balloons with rice & blew them up so Luke had a great time sitting there and shaking them around. He loves their dogs, too…only…he thinks they are cats and meows at them lol! They are little dogs – he’s used to huge labs, so to him – anything furry, four-legged, and little is a cat! 🙂
- When we came home Luke absolutely crashed. He took a great nap (only like, 1.5 hours, but his afternoon nap is only about 45mins – 1hour these days), the type where you sleep so heavily you wake up with sleep lines all over your body lol. As soon as he got up he was talking about his wagon (he’s been talking about his "wa-wa-wa" to anyone that will listen since yesterday!) so I grabbed him a snack and loaded him into it for a walk. He was happy as could be, going over bumps, munching on graham crackers and chugging water. He thought he was suuuuper cool to have his little set up!
(See, Luke has an extra seat in his wagon, he needs a buddy to ride with him!!)
- It was pizza night over here, so I was able to relax in the evening rather than have to make dinner. Luke & I just played around a bit and then sat outside until Matt came home with dinner. After we ate my mom took Luke back outside, and he ended up back in his wagon (lol). Matt was excited to take him for a spin in it, so we walked him a little bit more and then brought him in for a bath & bedtime. That kid sure was dirty after a day outside!!!
- Today the high is somewhere between 74 & 78, depending on what sites you read. YAY! The same goes for tomorrow. Sunday should be about 65 and sunny, which is I think is perfect for Luke to be comfy in his CUTE outfit!! 🙂
- My mom is working a couple hours this morning, and then going to get her hair done with my sister. When she gets home, we’re going to make some sort of plans for the day, but I’m not sure what yet. Going back to my Grandparent’s house is an option. Luke would have a good time. That won’t be til 1:00 or so, so I’m thinking of driving around the neighborhood to look for a park that has it’s swings up already. That usually doesn’t happen until Memorial Day here, so we’ll see.
- This afternoon I have to boil eggs to dye, too. We are either doing those this afternoon or this evening, depending on our plans and Luke. It should be interesting, letting him get a little messy. I hope I don’t end up regretting this lol.
- Tomorrow afternoon we are going to my Dad’s to dye eggs with Gabby and drop off our ham & polish sausage from Matt’s mom. We volunteered them for Easter Dinner at his house, so we’re bringing them over early so he can cook them.
- On Sunday, I’m going to cook our usual Easter brunch….I have to get things for that. I found sausage that were 10 for $10 (I only got one, of course) and that’s all I bought so far. Well, that and bisquick to make pancakes. But I need to get some fruit and some sort of baked good….we usually go all out for our brunch! I’m undecided if we are going to take Luke to church after that. On the plus side, LOTS of kids will be there so him being crazy won’t be as noticed….but Easter mass is always CROWDED and LONG and it might be a nightmare. We’ll see. Then we’re going to my Grandparents’ and hanging out there until Luke needs a nap, then going to my Dad’s for dinner with them, my sister & Tom. I’m REALLY excited for a warm, sunny Easter weekend!!!
- Tonight I’m making pan-seared Tillapia, Rice & Broccoli, and tomorrow I’m making Turkey Burgers on the grill, Seasoned Baked Potato Wedges (with shredded white cheddar on them, mmmmm) and salad. I’m excited for all the good eats this weekend, too!
- Luke is REALLY loving wearing shorts & no shoes. My boy loves his freedom!
- Well, he’s done with his breakfast and wants to play. (He had grapes for his fruit this morning, he LOVES them – I am so paranoid though, so I seriously cut each grape into like 6 pieces lol….he eats so fast I’m so terrified of him choking!!) I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and if I don’t make it back here before Sunday, HAPPY EASTER!!!
