*****Vacation 1*****
*WARNING PICTURE HEAVY*
I think I will finally get around to posting a few pictures from our trip a few weeks ago. All I have uploaded for now are the pics from when we went tubin. I will have to upload the rest and we have a few rolls of film that need to be developed.
Anyways, the story. We drove up Thursday morning, got to the campsite and it was GORGEOUS up there. We were the only ones on that side of the lake…….awesomeness. There were deer running around EVERYWHERE!! The first night we just got our camp together and then wandered down to the lake right at sunset. I will have to share those pictures. We are sitting there and Stephen says "Is that the moon Im looking at?" It was this HUGE pink ball……..GORGEOUS. We left the cameras in the truck so I ran up the hill to get them to snap pictures. I snapped a few, not the best. On my way back down I twisted my ankle pretty bad, Im surpised I didnt break it and fall flat on my face.
The next morning me, dad and Justin all climbed in the truck to go to the store to get coffee for dad and mom. Mom and Stephen were still sleeping. The gates to the park were closed so we went back to camp for an hour. By then mom had woke up so we all climbed back in and made our way to the store. While mom dad and Justin went in I sat in the truck watching this guy next to me. He was very disoriented. He was obviously messed up on something. Not drunk, I assure you the man was not drunk. Ive seen alot of those in my day and this man was not acting normal. He was spitting on himself…..litterally, not drooling, SPITTING. He would lay down for a minute, then sit back up, act like he was going to start the truck (which was already started) it was just craziness. I sat there for about 10 minutes watching him……wondering if I should alert someone. When mom and dad got back I told them….they agreed, I asked if we should tell someone, dad said no and made me leave afraid of what the guy might do next.
I think that it was later that day that we went to the river to tube. The river was low and moving slow as hell but we still enjoyed ourselves. With little froggie with us, the water was perfect, it wasnt moving too fast or anything……..just right. His tube was free. They usually dont let you tie up to one another, but they let us tie froggie up, he was tied to me. For about an hour of the trip I was paddling with my hands……pulling not just Justin behind me, but Stephen as well. Lazy punk……made me do all the work. Justin did an AWESOME job, we were all worried about him sitting still for the 2 hour trip but he did it……we were all proud of him and such when it was all over and done, he did an EXCELLENT job. He only got scared about 4 times, twice when the ducks were swimming right at us and twice going down the little rapids. He just made an "Im scared" face but didnt cry or anything. At first I was just letting him cruise behind me but once we got closer to the rapids I drug him into me and held his tube right next to mine. He had a blast, we all did. The last set of rapids were the biggest, I actually sat up and grabbed not only his tube but his arm as well……just incase. The water was so damn low we all kept getting stuck, we would drag bottom and such, but who cares……..we were the only ones out there……made it nice and quiet and enjoyable.
It started to rain a bit…..but nothing too bad, thank goodness. The next day we went to Gruene for lunch and to the wildlife safari……that was FUN. Fking birds were scary as hell. It was funny to see the ostrich pecking at the window. I was pretending to feed him so he would peck then swallow, as if he had really gotten something to eat. Talk about bird brained. Needless to say I rolled my window up whenever an emu or an ostrich came near. Didnt want my hand pecked off. Has anyone ever noticed how evil looking emus are??? Regardless, it was fun, got to feed lots of cool animals.
Sunday we packed up and headed home. It was a VERY nice trip. I enjoyed myself.
One night mom, Justin and I all went to the bathroom….just as we rounded the corner, I looked down and saw a scorpion…..I warned Justin about them…..if he saw them to leave them alone. Another night mom was coming back from the bathroom and a skunk was blocking her way of getting back into the camp….mind you it was raining. Apparently he bowed up and started to approach her…he was eating the left over stuff we had thrown out for the deers to eat but they didnt. We finally got neighbors towards the end of our stay……we heard one of them scream then realized they had a trantula in their camp……they invited us over to see it once they got it outside…..so we did. Stephen took pictures……but again, we need to get all those developed.
It was a nice trip…….Stephen and I were talking about getting married up there…..it would be gorgeous, but we cant afford to.
Ok, now for a few pictures from the tubing trip.
The water was COLLLLLLLD as hell. Actually, I guess hell is warm….but either way, it was FREEZING!
Dad nearly flipped over trying to get in the first time
LOL thats dads reaction to the coldness of the water on his ass
Mom trying to brave the coldness……notice how she clenches tight to that damn cig……..fking smokers
Stephen dove into the water then got into his tube……..that was after he helped everyone else in theirs and pushed them out into the water…..hes so sweet.
This is how I had Justin most of the time…..let him do his own thing…until we got to the rapids
The duck that kept swimming right at me……..I dunno why but he swam at
me 2 or 3 times…..
This was my view most of the trip and might I just say it was a lovely view at that……….my 2 favorite fellas lookin good
These were the ducks and the fish at the dock we went to to see about renting a boat for a day. Dad and I wanted to grab our poles and drop our lines off the dock…….there were HUGE cat swimming there……I didnt get any pictures of the cats….I was too excited about them and about the prospect of catching them to think about taking a picture.
And this was through the dirty windshield at dusk on the drive to get coffee that morning. GORGEOUS!!
