11 days and counting..

Waiting for this baby to arrive is a whole different creature to the wait before my other 2 children.

First off, with Ella, there really wasn’t waiting. She was a surprise!! I was told so often that the first is so often late, blah blah blah…so I worked right up until the Christmas holidays, figuring I would then have a whole week to relax and prepare, THEN start waiting. Well, I got the weekend and the monday off. Monday night I went into labour….surprise!! Guess relaxing after all the work stress set me off. Oh well, I got Christmas in hospital, which was actually a very pleasant experience. Huge turkey dinner I didn’t have to cook, along with a surprise present from the maternity ward ladies. Sweet!

Then with Annabelle, it was the end of a very hot summer and I was bored and SO ready for this baby to come. I had been off work since Christmas (she was due 5 March I think), and I was uncomfortable and living with my in laws who had NO a/c. They didn’t even own a fan (they did after about a month of my living there though!)! I was miserable, so about a couple weeks before the due date, I was counting down. Then the due date came and went. Sigh. Midwife did a sweep on me on the 11th, went into labour that night….YAY!

Funny, both my girls were born at 10:40am (ish).

So now, I’m 11 days out, Ella’s bday is tomorrow (yes, she and my son have the same due date)….and I’m just praying that I don’t have baby tomorrow or on Christmas. That’s nearly unforgivable! I’m also feeling a whole lot of NOT READY, so honestly, if he chooses to be a week late, I’m so not complaining! I have Ali to take care of me, I have a/c! I’m good! Take your time! (Now that I’ve said that, I’m going into labour tonight, aren’t I?) lol.
