Life continues on, no matter what happens, or how bad my night was…..the day inevitably comes. It brings with it new responsibilities, new decisions, and all the day to day chores that are never ending.

I think if I had someone to take care of the laundry, the dishes, and the cooking, I would be a much happier person.

I LOVE cooking. But the chore of making some sausages AGAIN, or deciding whether to have crumbed fish or shoyu chicken gets rather old. If I had the time and the money, I would have so much more fun with our menu. But our week to week meals are reasonably consistent. I would much rather have someone serve me than have to be so repetitive.

My Ella is a sweet, timid girl. Her latest thing is to be shy and tell me she is “so, so scared”. She told me this before her doctor appointment, and a few times before kindy. She likes the company of a few kids, I think sharing a playground with up to 40 is a bit overwhelming for her.

My Annabelle is still completely non verbal. She whines, she moans, she screeches, she screams, and she throws absolute tantrums. That’s the only way she has figured out to get attention. Most of my attempts at producing a word or even some sign language have failed. We await early intervention and speech therapy. We were told that she met criteria for the above help months ago, and are still waiting. A followup from the pediatrician revealed that they are both on leave. Figures.

My Alex is moving far too fast for my taste! He’s my tiny baby! He’s a week away from being 9 months old, and he is crawling so fast!! He is pulling himself up and scooting along the furniture, and he’s walking his little heart out when we hold both of his hands. He even stood by himself for like 5 seconds today. I was putting him down, and he put his feet down. I let go, thinking he would drop straight to his bottom…but no…he just stood there. Ali saw it and we were both shocked. He has 4 teeth now. Bottom middle two, and 2 on top, the next 2 out from the middle. I call him my vampire baby, he is so sweet.

The cat we are fostering is growing on me. It’s so hard, because I know we have to give her back, so I have been trying to keep my distance. But she is such a lovely, loving cat. I keep finding myself with her on my lap, purring.

Me and Ali are ok. Some days I feel so connected to him, other days I pull away due to my own stresses and my own fears. Overall I have faith we will make it through. Life is very demanding of us at the moment, and we don’t have as much time for each other as we would like.

Everyday I just tell myself to carry on. I keep carrying on, so it must be working!!

Definitely keep carrying on! And I do wish I was nearby so I can help with the chores around the house. Would love to spend time with you! Can your VTers or someone from the ward come in even once a month to help clean the house? I know missionaries would love to do that. lol.

This sounds so familiar. Seriously, chores are never done, meals get old, our kids fill us up and are absolutely amazing, but they’re also hard work. I think you’re doing great with Annabelle to understand her as well as you are. You’ll get there, keep talking and signing. xx
