Thinking is dangerous for the brain

Well I am slowly settling into the new job and the new role, still not used to the hours though.

This morning I drove in as I couldn’t face public transport and whilst driving I wondered if this really was the right job for me. For the last week and a half all I have been doing is entering information into a data base, answering the phone and working incredibly long hours by the time you add the travel in there. I am missing my husband and my son, which is sad considering we live under the same roof, but my time with them has been dramatically reduced. None of this I took into consideration when I applied for this position.

So this morning I thought I might start looking again and emailed my husband at work and told him that I wasn’t so sure about the position. he told me to stay put for just a few more weeks and see how it all pans out (the Manager just quit and there will be a new manager at the end of the month) So I decided to follow my husbands advice when my mobile rang.

I have been short listed for a government position and they want to interview me. Less hours, more pay, free parking, everything i am not getting here that is affecting my quality of life (mainly the hours and travel on public transport here) plus it is a government position which means +++++++benifits.

I emailed Husband and told him what had happened and how I thought this was a sign and everything happens for a reason. Yes I am a flaming hippy at heart!

So I am going to make some kind of excuse and go for the interview and I am quietly optimistic that I will get the position, it fits in so much better to our life plan than this job.

Just another little piece of me…..
