First for the season

Well, it is official, the winter season is here. I have my first and hopefully only cold for the season. In honour of this event I have decided to take the day off work and hopefully try and recover. I actually caught this from someone at work and have decided that I really don’t want to pass this on any further, so a day at home won’t hurt me.
And now for the exciting news….I think I know what I want to be when I grow up!

I have been looking through job ads, but not for jobs I can do now, but jobs I think I might like to do and I think I stumbled across it…..Pubic Relations. The ad I found below on Seek sounds like something I would love doing and may even excel in…..

Project Manager

An excellent opportunity exists for a dynamic and switched on person to join a boutique Marketing/PR/Events Agency based in Subiaco.

As part of a cutting edge and young team you will be required to assume Account Management for 2 high profile and exclusive clients to the agency. This involves co-ordinating Events, Briefs, Liaising with Agency staff and external parties (suppliers etc).

A minimum of 3 years experience within a Public Relations or Event Management role is essential to be considered for this role along with Advanced Client Liaison skills.

Please apply by sending your CV in WORD format by following the prompts below for immediate consideration.
I have found similar roles advertised and they want you to have a degree in Journalism or Public relations so…..I am going back to Uni! Yup I am going to get a Bachelor of Communications.

I am a bit wary about just dropping out of work and going to study full time or even cutting my hours and doing it part time just yet. It has been over 15 years since I studied in a formal situation. I was telling a girlfriend about it last night and she suggested I try Open Learning Australia. I have had a look and I can do it one unit at a time, not have to worry about SAT scores etc and I can still get government assistance to study. So I am going to pick up a unit towards my degree and give it a go and see what happens. It is 13 weeks and I figure I could do one unit in 13 weeks. In total I need to do 20 units to get my degree, but I can do them as quickly or slowly as I like. So I will start with one, see if I can get some credits for the B of A I did in Education and see if I can get 1st year out of the way, which would only leave 2 years left till I qualified. It is something, a start, a goal and it has given me hope that things will get better:)

Ok I am going to go and resume dying 🙂

Just another little piece of me…..
