Detox

After a month of illness, and the doctors treating a variety of ailments from Ulcers to Gallstones, none of which I have, I decided to tell them to jam it and took myself off all the medications they had put me on and put myself on a detox diet. I have cut out wheat and dairy, all complex carbs and sugars. Only low fat protien, salads and lots of water. No coffee or soft drinks. I started this on Monday morning. Today is Thursday and the cravings have finally gone and I am feeling pretty damn good.

I know it is only 4 days but I noticed that my shirt was a bit looser, so I jumped on the scales and I have lost 2 kilos! (4.4pounds for my american friends) I walked out of the bathroom feeling pretty good. Master 8 looked up at me and said, "Mummy you’re looking skinnier" (Like 2 kios will make that much difference). I laughed and thanked him.

He then wrapped his arms around my waist and said "My fingers are touching mummy, you HAVE lost weight."

Now if that isn’t incentive to keep going I don’t know what is!

I committed to 2 weeks on this detox, and then I will follow a similar eating pattern after that but will have a break day once a week where I can have all of those yummy things I have been missing. Only 10 more days to go!

Just another little piece of me…..

well congratulations! you know that’s why they refer to it as ‘practicing medicine’ don’t you? *grin* I know I’ve been a guinea pig before myself. I sometimes think they just throw everything at you in the hope that something will stick. *sigh* glad you’re feeling better *hugs*

Sounds good, I wish I had the willpower to do it! What do you eat for low fat protein? Fish, chicken? Are you allowed seasoning?

Good for you! You know, detoxing is a great thing- takes away lots of fluid built up, etc!

How incredibly wonderful! As the say, “we are what we eat!” Good for you, and what gumption!! Atta girl. When we don’t have our health, what good is our life? I love what you dear boy said and did. Stay the course, dear girl! Love and hugs to you.

Please, give me more incentive for a detox. Of course, with all the meds….not sure it would really help me.
