Amberoak

Well it has been a productive 24 hours!

Last night I started writing the ritual for my temple cleansing and concecration. I am pleased with it so far. It involved much debate with a wiccan friend of mine over the use of pentagrams for the quarters (I decided in the end to use none) and whether I would work docil or clockwise. I decided to work clockwise and have basically reinvented how I put up a sacred space, but it suits me and is more what my grandmother used to do in hr kitchen! It feels so right and for the first time in a very long time I feel like I am back intouch with my roots…it is a great feeling!!

I also finally decided on a name…Amberoak. the Ambe represents the gem stone and symbolises healing, prosperity and was the stone most chosen to use in Amulets for luck. It is also the stone of the high priestess, and seeing I am solitary I guess I am my own HPS. The oak part is to represent universal knowledge and learning and the quest to continue learning.

I am extreemly happy with the name. Although I call it my temple, that sounds so wiccan, and although I have nothing against wicca, infact what I do is quite wiccan with a few twists, I wanted it to be somewhere I could work in conjunction with my druid friends, my wiccan friends and my golden dawn friends….I wanted it to be a universal space where we all could share with no preconcieved ideas of what should be done in the space.

With that in mind I started to also redecorate the room. The bottom part of the walls were sponged a pale blue. I have added to this and now the top half of the walls are a solid blue in a couple shades darker colour. I also found this stuff that u paint onto glass and let it dry and then u can paint the glass with paint and it doesn’t come off. So I painted the windows the same colour as the top part of the walls. The light that comes through now is so beautiful…a soft blue hue….very magickal!

I am now in the process of putting a green oakleaf stencil boarder up that I made myself using real oakleaves as the basis for the pattern.

So far so good. Once I have the boarder finsihed I want to re estapol the floorboards tonight and then next week I would like to carry the oakleaf theme through to the alter cloths and the quarter tables, using the appropriate colours for the quarters. So far it is coming along nicely…just hoping I can have it done by the beginning of december and haven’t bitten off more than I can chew! 1st of december is the date we have decided on to do the cleansing and pruification ritual…so I still have a bit of time yet:)

So I am sitting here, covered in paint and feeling very proud of what I have achieved in the last 24 hours, both physically and emotionally……its been a GREAT weekend!

Just another little piece of me…..

I like it that you take your faith and make it your own. It is what I always longed to do.
